CFL Week 19 Betting Preview

Week 19 of the 2023 CFL season is set to take place this weekend, and there are some big matchups on the schedule. Three of the games this weekend will have a huge impact on the CFL playoff races, and that will only add to the intrigue. 

It has already been a great season of CFL football action, and that will continue in the four matchups that are scheduled. Here is a look at each of the four games, with a Dunkel pick and prediction included for each. 

BC Lions at Hamilton Tiger-Cats

While Hamilton certainly has something to play for, the same can be said for BC. The Lions are still looking for some wins to improve their playoff positioning, and they are going to win this game and cover the spread. 

Saskatchewan Roughriders at Calgary Stampeders

The Saskatchewan Roughriders head to Calgary on Friday night, and they are desperate to get their season turned back around. Saskatchewan has lost five straight games, and that is a big reason as to why they are 3.5-point underdogs in this game. 

Calgary comes into this game with some momentum, but they have also gone just 1-1 against the Roughriders this season. You should expect another close battle in this one, as both teams are looking to get into the postseason. 

Take the upset in this game, as Saskatchewan will end their five-game losing streak to get back on track. 

Montreal Alouettes at Edmonton Elks

The Montreal Alouettes head to Edmonton as 2.5-point betting favorites against the Elks in the first game on Saturday. Montreal has rattled off three straight wins, and they are looking to lock up the number two seed in the East Division. 

Edmonton continues to have some trouble winning games at home, even though they were able to end that long drought earlier this year. The Elks are going to battle in this game for a half, but that’s about all you can expect. Back the Alouettes at -2.5 as they roll to a fourth straight win. 

Ottawa Redblacks at Toronto Argonauts

The most lopsided game of the weekend will likely take place on Saturday as the Ottawa Redblacks visit the Toronto Argonauts. It’s very rare to see a game with a spread of double-digits in the CFL, but that is likely what it will be in this matchup.

Toronto looks like a team that is well on its way to winning another title this season, and Ottawa has not been playing great football of late. The Argonauts haven’t slowed down since clinching the East Division, and that won’t happen in this game either.
