CFL Week 16 Betting Preview

We have reached Week 16 of the CFL season, and things have really started to tighten up throughout the league. It looks like the East Division is decided at the top, but there is still plenty of drama and intrigue that remains throughout the league. 

If you are going to be betting on the CFL this weekend, then you are going to find some great betting opportunities out there. Here is a look at each of the four Week 16 CFL matchups, with a Dunkel pick and prediction for each game. 

Saskatchewan Roughriders at Ottawa Redblacks

Ottawa comes into this game having lost seven straight, and they look like a team that is fading in the wrong direction fast. 

Saskatchewan hasn’t exactly been a great team this season, but they typically have enough offense to get past opponents. This Redblacks team just has too many flaws, and they are going to lose their 8th game in a row in this one. 

BC Lions at Edmonton Elks

Time: 9:30 pm ET

The BC Lions travel to Edmonton to take on the Elks, and the visitors are big 7.5-point betting favorites in this game. BC has won two straight games to improve to 9-4 on the year, and they can’t afford to mess around in this one. 

It’s been a pretty disappointing year for Edmonton, but at least the Elks have now proven that they can win games at home. That’s not going to happen in this one, though, as backing the BC Lions at -7.5 is the right way to go. 

Montreal Alouettes at Calgary Stampeders

The 6-7 Montreal Alouettes are set to meet up with the 4-9 Calgary Stampeders this weekend, and this is an interesting matchup. Both teams have fallen well short of preseason expectations, but one of these teams will be getting an important win this weekend. 

Montreal is a slim two-point betting favorite on the road this weekend, but there are some real challenges ahead for the Alouettes. Look for Calgary to come up with a big win this weekend, and they are the team to bet on the moneyline. 

Hamilton TigerCats at Toronto Argonauts

The best game of the weekend might take place in the East Division this weekend as the Hamilton TigerCats are set to visit the Toronto Argonauts. Toronto is a big 10-point betting favorite in this one, and they have lost just one game on the year. 

There will be some desperation on the part of Hamilton in this game as they are trying to play their way into the postseason. Eventually, the Toronto offense is going to take control of this game, but it’s not going to be easy. 

Take the 10 points and bet on Hamilton, but it will be Toronto that is able to pick up a big win.
