It wasn't a great opening weekend of college football for the MAC as the teams went a combined 4-8 and included blowout losses for Akron (52-0 vs Penn State) and Kent State (56-3 vs Clemson). One of the few teams to come away with a victory was Ohio, albeit against an FCS competitor (59-0 over Hampton). The Bobcats will face a much stiffer test tonight as they face Big Ten opponent Purdue in West Lafayette.
