Vegas Golden Knights at Edmonton Oilers Betting Preview

25 March 2023 By Ayden Fahlstrom

The playoff races throughout the NHL are really starting to heat up as the regular season is quickly coming to a close. The Edmonton Oilers host the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday, and this game will have a huge impact on the standings in the Pacific Division.

Vegas comes into Saturday night in first place of the Pacific Division, and they are trying to hold on. The Golden Knights have rattled off three straight wins, and they now have 96 points on the season.

Edmonton still has an outside chance of winning the Pacific Division this season, but it’s going to take a win in this game. The Oilers are at 90 points on the year, but they are still looking for their first win over the Golden Knights.

The Edmonton Oilers are moneyline betting favorites at -132 on Saturday night against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Golden Knights Controlling the Action

The Vegas Golden Knights always seem to be in control of the action, and you can tell that by looking at season stats. Vegas is scoring 3.25 goals per game, and they are holding opponents to just 2.76 goals on the other end.

Jack Eichel is having a great first season with the Golden Knights as he is leading the way with 55 points. Vegas doesn’t always look like a team that is great on offense, but they have enough weapons to be dangerous.

The Golden Knights do still struggle on the power play at times, but they just know how to control a game at even strength, and that will be a big key in this game.

Oilers Continuing to Score

The Edmonton Oilers come into this game scoring 3.93 goals per game this season, and they are one of the best offensive teams in the league. Edmonton is scoring on the power play over 31 percent of the time, and that’s easily the best mark in the league.

While a number of players for the Oilers have stepped up, it is Connor McDavid that has continued to set the tone for Edmonton on offense. McDavid leads the NHL with 138 points on the year, and he just continues to amaze.

The Oilers are allowing 3.31 goals per game this season, and they have to find a way to get better on the defensive end of the ice. Edmonton is going to have to get better at killing off penalties to make a deep playoff run.

Vegas Gets Victory in Edmonton

This game has the potential to be a high-scoring affair, and Vegas is one of the few teams that is capable of scoring with Edmonton. The Oilers have to score a ton of goals to win games, but they are facing a Vegas team that can defend as well.

Edmonton is coming into this game on a long winning streak, but they haven’t proven that they know how to beat Vegas. The Golden Knights need this win to stay on top of the Pacific Division, and they are going to get a late goal to get that done.

Bet the Vegas Golden Knights moneyline as they are going to go into Edmonton and pick up a huge victory.
