Houston comes into this series with a record of 64-42, and they have started to take control of the American League. The Astros did just lose two straight games in San Francisco, but this team has been a great road team all year.
Los Angeles has improved its record to 64-43 on the season, and they look like a threat to win the National League again this season. The Dodgers are still in second place in the NL West, but they have started to make up ground in a hurry.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are the betting favorites at -177 on the money line Tuesday night.
Houston Can Score
The Houston Astros are an explosive offensive team that is capable of putting up runs in a hurry. Houston comes into this series with a team batting average of .267, and there aren’t many holes in this lineup.
Jose Altuve leads the team with 25 home runs, and he also sports a solid .277 batting average. Michael Brantley has been solid at the plate as well, hitting .331 to set the tone for the offense.
It will be Lance McCullers Jr. taking the mound for Houston on Tuesday night, and he has been a solid pitcher for the Astros. McCullers Jr. has gone 8-2 with a 3.23 ERA, and Houston will need him to be great in this game.
Dodgers Getting Pitching
The Dodgers have put together another loaded roster, but the real strength of this team has been on the pitcher’s mound. Los Angeles currently has a team ERA of 3.18, and one of their best pitchers takes the ball on Tuesday night.
Walker Buehler comes into this game with an 11-1 record this season while also sporting a terrific 2.19 earned run average. There have been some issues in the bullpen, but Buehler has what it takes to win this game by himself.
The Dodgers have won three of their last five games, and they scored eight runs in each of those wins. This should be another big night at the plate for Los Angeles, especially as they are starting to get healthy.
Dodgers Roll Over Astros
In a matchup of two of the best teams in baseball, this should be one of the most anticipated series of the entire week. These teams have a long history against each other, even though they play in two different leagues.
The Dodgers have a big advantage in the pitching matchup on Tuesday night, and that is going to play a key role in this game. Houston has proven that they can score on anyone, but facing Buehler is not going to be much fun.
Look for Los Angeles to break out the big bats on Tuesday night, and that will be more than enough for Buehler. Bet the Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 as they win this game by at least two runs over the Houston Astros.

Jose Altuve (-286) Over 0.5 Hits
Altuve had a rare hitless outing in his last game on Sunday against the Giants as he went 0-for-4 against San Francisco pitching. It’s certainly not indicative of how he’s been playing lately with a .360 average (9-for-25) over his last seven games.
The 31-year-old second baseman hasn’t had back-to-back hitless games since early July. He’s picked up at least one hit in his last three games following a hitless performance, including three hits in Seattle on July 27 after an 0-for-5 effort the day before.
Altuve has faced LA starter Walker Buehler only twice in his career and is hitless in both at-bats, but is 18-for-60 (.251 average) against the rest of the Dodgers staff.
Facing Buehler and his 2.19 ERA is a tall order for the Houston lineup tonight, but we like Altuve (-286) to at least break through with another hit tonight.
