Dunkel Pick: New England (-8); Under
The Chicago Bears have yet to win a single game on the road this season. With an overall record of 2-4, this is one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Now, they’ll face the New England Patriots, a team with a stifling defense. The way the Bears offense has performed, we’re not too sure about how they’ll perform tonight.
The New England Patriots are coming off of a big win over the Cleveland Browns. After winning 38-15, the Patriots should be feeling pretty good heading into this game.
It’s a Monday night game as well, giving them the chance to show off under the lights. With one of the best defenses in the league, the Patriots are in a good position to win this game.
Chicago Bears: Will the Bears establish a passing game today?
One of the most notable problems that we see with the Chicago Bears is the lack of a passing game. They rank 32nd in the NFL in passing yards per game at 122.8.
Whether this is due to them not trusting Justin Fields or wanting to run the ball more, it’s a problem. This is mainly why they’re one of the worst teams at scoring, averaging just 15.5 points per game.
It’s great that their running game is working so well but it hasn’t got them far. They’re averaging 170.7 rushing yards per game, ranking second overall.
The problem is, this hasn’t resulted in points so it’s not helping the team. They need to find more ways to be creative, especially since they’re facing the New England Patriots. The Patriots defense isn’t easy to score against.
New England Patriots: Patriots defense will win them this game
The New England Patriots could be much better on offense, there’s no denying that. They’re doing pretty well in scoring, however, averaging 23.5 points per game.
They rank 11th in the NFL and they have a record of 3-3. Today, they’ll get their chance to break the .500 mark with a win over the Bears. The main question is can they cover the spread, which is rather high.
What the Patriots do best is play defense, ranking seventh in points allowed per game (18.8). If they can focus their attention on stopping Justin Fields, they should be fine.
This team recently beat the Cleveland Browns 38-15. If they can beat Cleveland by 20 points, they should be able to beat the Bears by 10. Still, we won’t know this for sure until the game comes to a close.
Chicago Bears vs. New England Patriots Betting Pick
The only reason why this is a tough call is that the Bears are +8 to win this game. In their last three games against the Patriots, however, they’re 0-3 against the spread. Considering they have one of the worst offenses in the league, we’re going to take the Patriots here.
Along with taking the Patriots, we’re going to take the under as well. The total in this game is set to 40 and most of the Bears’ games have gone under. Look for the Patriots to earn another win at home and earn a 4-3 record.
