Dunkel MLB Rankings: Second Half is Underway

The 2021 MLB All-Star Game has come and gone, and now the push to the playoffs begins in each league. Some of the divisions seem to have a clear leader at this point in the season, while others could become a much tighter race.
The top two teams in the Dunkel weekly MLB rankings have not changed as it is still a battle between teams from the NL West Division. It is the San Francisco Giants still on top, but they are getting a strong push from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
San Diego was also expected to compete for the NL West Division title this season, but they are now just 8th in the weekly rankings. The Padres are starting to fall off of the pace in the division, and they are running out of time to turn things around.
The Milwaukee Brewers are the next National League team on the list after the Giants and Dodgers, but they don’t appear until the 7th spot.
Here Come the White Sox
The Chicago White Sox were expected to be a World Series title contender this season, and it looks like they are back to being that team. Chicago has gotten off to a great start since the All-Star Break, and they have taken complete control of the AL Central race.
Chicago is now third on the Dunkel MLB weekly rankings, and they could become a real threat to both the Giants and Dodgers at the top of the list. The Houston Astros are also making a charge up the rankings, and they are another team that should be in a position to win a World Series title.
The Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays are next on the list, and these teams are set to battle it out all season long in the American League East. These teams are a bit weaker than the four teams in front of them, but they are still keeping the pressure on.
New York Teams are Slipping
The New York Mets and New York Yankees both had dreams of winning the World Series this year, but each team has started to slide since the beginning of the year. The Mets are still holding the lead in the NL East, but that lead continues to get smaller.
The Mets are now in the 11th spot on the weekly MLB rankings, and that is just two spots higher than the New York Yankees. The Yankees have some serious work to do if they are going to find a way to win the AL East Division.
No Change at the Bottom
The Arizona Diamondbacks remain the lowest-ranked team, and it doesn’t seem like that is going to change anytime soon. Arizona has won just 27 games all season long, and getting to 50 wins seems like a real longshot.
If any team is going to catch the Diamondbacks at the bottom, it would most likely be the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore has won just 30 games this season, and they have been a big disappointment as well.
