25 May 2021

We are a few days into the National Basketball Association postseason. It’s been a good run so far, with some really fun games. The series has been intense, and will only get more hot and heavy as they go along. Let’s take a look at the updated series that are going on, and let you know where they sit in the most recent Dunkel Index NBA Rankings.
Memphis Grizzlies 1-0 over Utah Jazz
Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies picked up a huge upset in Game 1. Utah is the top seed in the NBA Playoffs, and also finished as the top ranked team in the rankings. Utah will look to regroup and even up the series when they get back at it on Wednesday. The Grizzlies wrapped up the regular season at #14 in the rankings.
Phoenix Suns 1-0 over Los Angeles Lakers
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are down 1-0 in the best of 7 series. These two teams will mix it back up Tuesday. It will be interesting to see what the Lakers' plan to score more than 90 points will be in Game 2. Anthony Davis and LeBron James are going to have to take charge and keep it rolling. The Suns are #2 in the rankings, while Los Angeles is #8.
Philadelphia 76ers 1-0 over Washington Wizards
The team #3 in the rankings is out of the Eastern Conference. Despite having a tough time slowing down Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook, the 76ers came away with a win in Game 1. The 76ers know they are going to have to score in bunches to win this series. The Wizards are 19th in the most recent rankings.
Dallas Mavericks 1-0 over Los Angeles Clippers
Luka Doncic was brilliant and led the Dallas Mavericks to a Game 1 win over the Clippers. Game 2 is slated for Tuesday night, and the home team knows they better get back on track soon. The Clippers are #4 in the rankings, while the Mavericks are #9. Another Top 10 matchup in the first round of the postseason.
Denver Nuggets 1-1 vs. Portland Trail Blazers
The Nuggets threw up 128 points in Game 2 to even this best of 7 series. This came after Damian Lilliard carried Portland to a Game 1 win. These two teams are going to get tired of each other after this series is over. This looks to be a series that will go 7. The Nuggets #5 while Portland comes in at #10.
Brooklyn Nets 1-0 over Boston Celtics
The Nets made quick and easy work of Boston in the first game. These two teams will get back at it on Tuesday, and Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden look to be too much. Boston has been lacking something all season, and the end is coming. The Nets are #6 in the rankings, while Boston settled at #16.
Milwaukee Bucks 2-0 over Miami Heat
The 7th ranked Milwaukee Bucks took out all their frustrations on the 13th ranked Miami Heat on Monday Night. Now, the defending Eastern Conference Champions are down 2-0 in the series. Do not count them out, but they are certainly in some trouble.
Atlanta Hawks 1-0 over New York Knicks
Trae Young was outstanding in Game 1 and picked up a win for the Hawks on the road. Madison Square Garden will be rocking on Wednesday when the Knicks look to even up the series. Both these teams are pleasant surprises - the Knicks are 11th and the Hawks are 12th in the rankings.
