CFL Week 11 Betting Preview
16 August 2023

Week 11 of the 2023 CFL is set to kick off on Thursday, and this could be one of the most interesting weeks up to this point. There is a potential for some great games, and the playoff races continue to get tighter throughout the league.
The Toronto Argonauts have a bye this weekend, but the other eight teams will all be in action as they are looking to pick up a win. Here is a look at each of the four games set to take place and a Dunkel pick and prediction for each matchup.
Edmonton Elks at Hamilton Tiger Cats
Time: 7:30 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Edmonton 105.870; Hamilton 104.334
Dunkel Line & Total: Edmonton by 1 ½; 41
Vegas Line & Total: Hamilton by 4 ½; 45 ½
Dunkel Pick: Edmonton (+4 ½); Under
The Edmonton Elks are 4.5-point betting underdogs in the first game in Week 11 as they are set to visit the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Edmonton is still looking for its first win of the season, but they are playing a Hamilton team that appears to be scuffling just a bit.
The Tiger Cats have had a real problem getting stops all season long, and Edmonton has now turned to Tre Ford at the quarterback position. This is a game that should feature plenty of offense, and that’s going to allow Edmonton to take control in this one.
Bet on the Edmonton Elks to not only cover the spread but to also win this game outright.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Calgary Stampeders
Time: 9:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Winnipeg 121.514; Calgary 108.028
Dunkel Line & Total: Winnipeg by 13 ½; 53
Vegas Line & Total: Winnipeg by 7; 47 ½
Dunkel Pick: Winnipeg (-7); Over
The 7-2 Winnipeg Blue Bombers hit the road on Friday to visit the 3-6 Calgary Stampeders in what could be an interesting game. Winnipeg is a seven-point betting favorite in this matchup, but the Blue Bombers struggled to beat a bad Edmonton team last week.
The problem for Calgary is that they just can’t get enough stops late in games, and that’s going to be an issue in the second half. Winnipeg can really score, and eventually, they are going to break through in the second half.
Bet on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at -7.0 as they pick up a double-digit win in this one.
Montreal Alouettes at Ottawa Redblacks
Time: 7:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Montreal 118.405; Ottawa 107.857
Dunkel Line & Total: Montreal by 10 ½; 54
Vegas Line & Total: Montreal by 2 ½; 47
Dunkel Pick: Montreal (-2 ½); Over
There is a big game in the East Division on Saturday as the Montreal Alouettes visit the Ottawa Redblacks. Montreal is a 2.5-point betting favorite in this matchup, and they have clearly been the better team this season.
Ottawa continues to play in some close games, but at some point, this team has to find a way to pick up a win. It won’t happen this week either, as Montreal not only wins but they cover the spread.
BC Lions at Saskatchewan Roughriders
Time: 7:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: BC 121.064; Saskatchewan 105.061
Dunkel Line & Total: BC by 16; 48
Vegas Line & Total: BC by 8 ½; 45
Dunkel Pick: BC (-8 ½); Over
The BC Lions have been a pleasant surprise all season long, and they head to Saskatchewan as 8.5-point betting favorites. The Roughriders will be trying to pick up a huge upset this weekend, but Saskatchewan doesn’t score enough on offense.
This is the one game that could end up getting out of hand in a hurry as BC just continues to play well. Bet on the Lions at -8.5 as they roll to a blowout win over the Roughriders in the West Division.
