Yellawood 500 2022 Betting Preview

The Dunkel Index was high on Tyler Reddick last week in Texas, and he came through with the win at the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500.
With the victory, Reddick became the fourth straight driver out of the playoffs to pick up a checkered flag, but he had won this season, so we are still tied at 19 different drivers to win in 2022.
Now the Cup Series moves to the Talladega Superspeedway for the YellaWood 500, where Bubba Wallace is the defending champion. Here are the top modeled drivers for this week.

Tyler Reddick (229.996)
If he can get another victory, Reddick would join Kevin Harvick as the only other driver to win consecutive races this season. He was solid last week, leading 70 laps en route to the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500 win.
Reddick’s victory last week came with a lot of interesting circumstances surrounding it. The checkered flag came in his first race after being eliminated from the playoffs and in a week when Reddick found out he’d be losing the #8 car next year when Kyle Busch joins Richard Childress Racing.
Chase Elliott (237.258)
Chase Elliott was close to becoming the first playoff driver to get a win this season with his runner-up to Chris Buescher at Bristol, but that was not the case last week when a blown tire caused him to crash at Texas while in the lead.
Elliott had a solid Spring race at Talladega, getting into a seventh-place finish even while starting 28th, but he started third and finished 18th at this event in 2021.
Martin Truex, Jr. (237.061)
Martin Truex, Jr. was disappointed that he was the first man out by points in playoff qualifying, but aside from a fifth-place finish at Kansas, he hasn’t placed in the top 30 at either Texas, Bristol, or Darlington.
He did get a fifth-place finish at the Talladega Spring race but has had his share of troubles at this track. What better time to get a win during this unpredictable season.
Kyle Busch (245.937)
Kyle Busch lost his pit crew to Denny Hamlin once #18 was eliminated from the playoffs, but it didn’t matter last week as he was in the crash at Texas that was caused by the blistering heat not letting tires grip. Busch hopes for better performance at Talladega, where he finished third this Spring.
Kyle Larson (232.304)
Kyle Larson is gunning for a championship as he is currently in third in the playoff standings behind Joey Logano and Ross Chastain.
Larson led 19 laps last weekend at Texas before finishing ninth, the same position he started in. Larson also led 32 laps in the Spring race at Talladega but ended up in fourth - his best finish at the Superspeedway.
Anything can happen at both Talladega, which is the longest oval on the circuit, and in this wild playoffs. Outside of the chaos, these are the drivers that should be in contention on Sunday.
