When the New York Yankees opened a West Coast trip with a 5-4 win over the Angels three weeks ago, they were flying high at 38-23 and acknowledged as the best surprise of the season. But since that time, Joe Girardi's club has come back down to earth with a 5-14 stretch that has been marked by inconsistency with both the offense and pitching. Heading into the final week before the All-Star break, the Yankees will open a series tonight at home against another team that has struggled all season -- the Toronto Blue Jays.
