XFL 2023 Weekly Preview For Week 4

10 March 2023 By Cole Paganelli

Amid a slump in viewership across Weeks 2 and 3, the XFL hopes to reinvigorate its fans with its Week 4 games and beyond. The interest could increase if players continue to get into brawls, like in the game between the DC Defenders and the St. Louis Battlehawks in Week 3.

However, it would be for all the wrong reasons, and the league has made it clear it doesn't want to see any more fights. To see if cooler heads have prevailed, the XFL's eight teams take to the fields this weekend, although the Defenders and BattleHawks will have to do it without a few players.

Houston Roughnecks At Orlando Guardians

The Houston Roughneck and the Orlando Guardians get XFL weekend going Saturday at 7 PM ET. Orlando plays host in this game, with Camping World Stadium setting the stage.

The Roughnecks have yet to experience a loss in the current season and their entire franchise history. On the other hand, the Guardians haven't had much success. Despite their best efforts, they continue to encounter setbacks in their offensive attempts, as evidenced by their 10-9 to the Arlington Renegades last week.

This will hurt them against the Roughnecks, who are in front with a Dunkel rating of 109.878. Orlando is now at 104.798. As much as Orlando tries on Saturday, it will fall short.

San Antonio Brahmas Visit the Seattle Sea Dragons

In the late game for the XFL on Saturday, the Brahmas are going to look for a way to rebound from their loss to the Roughnecks last week. San Antonio could never develop an offensive strategy that worked in that game, and QB Jack Coan still has a few kinks to work out.

The Seattle Sea Dragons aren't in much better shape. Their defense is second from the bottom in terms of points given up, and they can't afford to leave holes open anymore. The good news for them is that San Antone's defense isn't overwhelming, which could give Seattle an edge.

The Sea Dragons will do it, too. They're in the lead, with a Dunkel rating of 110.652, while San Antonio is getting 101.958. The home team takes the win off a superior offensive strategy.

Arlington Renegades At St. Louis Battlehawks

On Sunday, the Arlington Renegades and St. Louis Battlehawks get the day's two games going in St. Louis. The Renegades are still trying to figure out who they want to be, making swaps on offense to create a winning combination. So far, it hasn't worked.

The Battlehawks continue to run into trouble, despite repeatedly being able to find the end zone. They almost beat the Defenders last week before coming up just short, but Sunday is a new day.

The matchup is extremely tight, with St. Louis only barely ahead of Arlington. Their Dunkel index is 106.954, while the Battlehawks are at 106.002. However, it's good enough, and the home team gets the win.

Vegas Vipers On The Road Against the DC Defenders

In the final game of Week 4, the Vegas Vipers head to DC to take on the Defenders. They're looking for something positive, as they haven't won a game yet. DC has gotten off to a slow start, although they turned things around last week. The offense found its stride and should continue to improve.

The Vipers' defense has been sluggish and is about to have more difficulty. DC's offense is going to prove to be too much, skillfully controlling the field. With a Dunkel rating of 111.116, the Defenders are out in front against the Vipers' 100.912, and the favorites take the game.
