Week 13 CFL Preview
28 October 2021

Week 13 of the CFL regular season is here, and we have prepared a couple of picks for you to check out!
Calgary at Ottawa
Date & Time: October 29, 7:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Calgary 111.726; Ottawa 104.046
Dunkel Line & Total: Calgary by 7 ½; 41
Vegas Line & Total: Calgary by 10 ½; 42 ½
Dunkel Pick: Ottawa (+10 ½); Under
Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell is coming off three interceptions in a loss to the Riders last week. Although Calgary has righted the ship thanks to their stellar defense, laying double-digits with Calgary isn’t something that makes any sense.
Siding with Ottawa despite their lackluster offense is the way to go. The RedBlacks have actually been decent defensively, and Mitchell has been way too turnover-prone in 2021.
Hamilton at Edmonton
Date & Time: October 29, 9:45 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Hamilton 116.924; Edmonton 104.266
Dunkel Line & Total: Hamilton by 12 ½; 41
Vegas Line & Total: Hamilton by 4 ½; 43
Dunkel Pick: Hamilton (-4 ½); Under
The Ticats are getting their offense going at just the right time, with Jeremiah Masoli and Brandon Banks back healthy. Last week saw flashes of what Masoli and Banks that CFL fans have become accustomed to, and they should feed on an Elks team that recently traded away their franchise quarterback in Trevor Harris.
Edmonton has essentially punted on the 2021 season, and this line is bananas, only being at -4.5. Hamilton is a steal on the spread in this game.
BC at Toronto
Date & Time: October 30, 4:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: BC 103.365; Toronto 111.512
Dunkel Line & Total: Toronto by 8; 48
Vegas Line & Total: Toronto by 3 ½; 45 ½
Dunkel Pick: Toronto (-3 ½); Over
The Argos defense should have their way against a Lions team that has been a complete mess since receiver Lucky Whitehead got injured. To make matters worse for the Leos, both receivers Lemar Durant and Jevon Cottoy have also been ruled out for this cross-division showdown.
Offensively, BC hasn’t gotten enough pressure on the quarterback this season, which will give veteran gunslinger McLeod Bethel-Thompson more than enough time to pick apart the secondary.
This is another match where the spread is completely wrong, and you should back the Argos as favorites in this one.
Saskatchewan at Montreal
Date & Time: October 30, 7:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Saskatchewan 118.206; Montreal 113.856
Dunkel Line & Total: Saskatchewan by 4 ½; 54
Vegas Line & Total: Saskatchewan by 1 ½; 46 ½
Dunkel Pick: Saskatchewan (-1 ½); Over
The Alouettes are feeling good atop the East Division, but the Riders pose a stingy defense that is loaded with talent from the front to back. Running back William Stanback will be the key to Montreal’s success, as he leads the CFL in rushing, averaging more than six yards per carry.
Stanback may have an issue against the Riders, however, who have been stout against the rush this season. That will put a ton of pressure on quarterback Matthew Schiltz, who I think will fold under pressure in arguably Montreal’s biggest game this season.
