USFL Week 8 Betting Picks

We are into Week 8 of the USFL season. This week offers some great matchups for fans to enjoy. Check out our betting previews for each game this week below.

Pittsburgh Maulers vs. New Jersey Generals

There is a reason why the New Jersey Generals are leading the North Division. They are one of the best teams and are scoring 21.7 points per game, compared to the Maulers, who are averaging 13.1 points per game.

The biggest difference is the ability to run the football as running back Darius Victor has been leading the sport with six rushing touchdowns to drain some clock with their ability to run the ball consistently to move the chains.

Go with the New Jersey Generals to cover the spread and the under to hit in this game.

New Orleans Breakers vs. Birmingham Stallions

These two teams are a lot closer than you’d think originally, and this is an important game for the Breakers as they try to gain a full game in the standings throughout the South Division.

Breakers quarterback Kyle Sloter is leading the league in passing yards per game with 214.7 yards. Both offenses have proven their ability to find the end zone as New Orleans is scoring 23.9 points per game while Birmingham is averaging 26.9 points per game thus far.

Give me the three points with the New Orleans Breakers and the over to hit.

Michigan Panthers vs. Philadelphia Stars

Michigan is a struggling team but has shown the ability to run the football effectively and efficiently enough to put some points on the board.

Special teams is going to play a major factor as Maurice Alexander is leading the USFL in kick return yardage, which puts the Stars in a better situation to begin their drives.

It also helps to have a wide receiver like Bug Howard, who has four touchdown receptions to lead the league. The Stars are not going to run the football much throughout this game, and that means the clock will not be draining as much when they are on offense.

The offense of the Philadelphia Stars is too much here and should dominate. Philadelphia should be able to cover the six points easily, and the over should hit.

Houston Gamblers vs. Tampa Bay Bandits

The Gamblers do well at adding to their scores with their kicking as they have led the sport with 55 points throughout the season. Their special teams is also doing well as they are averaging 14 punt return yards per kick, and that will drastically improve their field position.

These defenses have to improve and should be able to with the Gamblers acquiring a solid amount of points kicking field goals instead of touchdowns.

Both defenses struggle in their pass defense as well, so that means they will need to step up in the secondary and play a bit better. I think this will be more a punting game than a back and forth scoring affair.

Go with the Tampa Bay Bandits to cover a five-point spread and the under to hit.
