USFL Week 5 Betting Picks

After an exciting Week 4, we return with another slate of USFL picks. Below are the best bets for USFL Week 5!

Michigan Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Bandits (Friday 8:00 PM)

Michigan is one of the best rushing teams in the sport, as they are averaging 190.3 rushing yards per game.

Neither offense is particularly playing well as Michigan is scoring 16.8 points per game thus far while Tampa Bay is averaging 14.3 points per game to begin the regular season.

The Panthers are dominating on third downs as they are leading all of the USFL with a 46.4 percent third down conversion rate to extend drives. It is extremely difficult to score against either team as neither team is allowing more than 20 points per game.

In fact, the Panthers have allowed 45 total points throughout their first four games, so it will be extremely difficult to even score field goals against this team.

All in all, go with Michigan +2.5 here as well as the under to hit.

New Orleans Breakers vs. New Jersey Generals (Saturday 3:00 PM)

The offense of New Orleans have been doing incredibly well as they have quarterback Kyle Sloter leading the USFL in passing yards and running back Jordan Ellis is leading the sport in rushing yards.

It makes sense that they are leading the with 383.8 yards per game so far, so they are continuing to march down the field. Running back Darius Victor has been doing incredibly well as he is leading the USFL with four rushing touchdowns.

Both teams have shown the ability to score points as the Breakers are averaging 23.3 points per game while the Generals are scoring 19.8 points per game thus far. Go with the over to hit and New Orleans to cover the -3 point spread.

Birmingham Stallions vs. Philadelphia Stars (Sunday 12:00 PM)

The Stallions are a perfect 4-0 record and have been nothing short of dominant this season.

The Birmingham Stars have been doing incredibly well at special teams as kicker Brandon Aubrey leads in kicking points, while punt returner Victor Bolden leads the league in both punt return and kick return yards.

Both teams are allowing 160+ rushing yards per game, so the coaching staff will try to run the ball more and keep time ticking off the clock as fewer total plays will happen as a result.

Birmingham should dominate and cover the -6.5 spread. Also, take the under.

Pittsburgh Maulers vs. Houston Gamblers (Sunday 4:00 PM)

These defenses are neck-and-neck with one another as the Maulers are allowing 23 points per game this season while the Gamblers are giving up 23.8 points per game.

Pittsburgh has been passing the ball effectively as their quarterback Clayton Thorson has thrown for six passing touchdowns. Houston has a +6 turnover ratio, which means they will do well and could get some favorable field position to add some easy points.

Pittsburgh should be able to cover the spread, and the over should hit!
