USFL Week 3 Betting Picks

After an exciting Week 2, we return with another slate of USFL picks. Below are the best bets for USFL Week 3!

Tampa Bay Bandits vs. Houston Gamblers

The difference is on the offensive side of things as the Gamblers are averaging 22.5 points per game this season while the Bandits have struggled to get into the end zone with 10 points per game thus far.

The Gamblers’ Mark Thompson is leading the league with 163 rushing yards so far, so he should be able to do well in that department. The Gamblers offensively are going to have to march down the field, though, as the Bandits are averaging 49.2 net yards per punt this season.

Houston should be able to win this game outright, so go with the Gamblers +1.5 and the under to hit here as the defenses should step up.

Birmingham Stallions vs. New Orleans Breakers

We have a battle of the undefeated teams as the Stallions, and the Breakers square off in Week 3. Both teams are also scoring incredibly well as Birmingham is scoring 30.5 points per game this season while New Orleans is averaging 28.5 points.

The Breakers are giving up 10 points per game, so they have been doing well at defending. Offensively, New Orleans is averaging 347.5 total yards of offense so they can dominate and put up points in bunches. The Breakers look like the best team in the USFL, so go with them to cover a 3.5-point spread and the over to hit.

Pittsburgh Maulers vs. Michigan Panthers

The Maulers have been getting the ball to wide receiver Bailey Gaither as he is leading the USFL with 159 receiving yards so far this year.

The Panthers have been doing very well on defense as they have given up 19 points in the first two weeks, but their pass defense is not well enough to stop Pittsburgh’s passing attack.

Neither offense has done well, so they are being slept on thus far. The Maulers have dominated as they are holding their opponents to just 54.5 rushing yards per game this season, so they are making teams more one-dimensional.

Pittsburgh should be able to cover being 2.5-point underdogs with points flying, so go with the over as well.

New Jersey Generals vs. Philadelphia Stars

These offenses are combining for 40.5 points per game, and these defenses are not as great as they have been doing in the early portion of the season.

Philadelphia is giving up a bunch of yardage defensively as teams are able to move the ball and drain the clock too much to make the under a lot more attractive here.

Philadelphia is passing the football very well with 215.5 passing yards per game thus far and should be able to dominate here. However, I expect a lot of field goals in this game instead of touchdowns as these teams are limiting points against their defenses.

Go with the Generals getting 2.5 points to cover the spread as well as under 40.5 points to hit here.
