USFL Week 10 Betting Picks

16 June 2022

We are into Week 10 of the USFL season. This week offers some great matchups for fans to enjoy. Check out our betting previews for each game this week below.

Philadelphia Stars vs. New Jersey Generals

In a preview of the playoff matchup scheduled for June 25, the Philadelphia Stars and the New Jersey Generals will face off to end the regular season. The Generals were able to pick up a come-from-behind win earlier in the season against the Stars, 24-16.

New Jersey has a great offensive team as they are able to run the ball down their opponent’s throats. They are leading the USFL with 158.7 rushing yards per game.

Running back Darius Victor has done extremely well and finds the end zone consistently as he has nine rushing touchdowns thus far. Philadelphia has been built on forcing turnovers as they have a league-best +9 turnover ratio.

New Jersey seems to be careful with the football and should control this game by running the ball and maintaining possession. All in all, go with the New Jersey Generals -2.5 and the under as the plays in this game.

Time: 12:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Philadelphia 104.304; New Jersey 113.934
Dunkel Line & Total: New Jersey by 9 ½; 37
Vegas Line & Total: New Jersey by 2 ½; 41 ½
Dunkel Pick: New Jersey (-2 ½); Under

Birmingham Stallions vs. Tampa Bay Bandits

The Birmingham Stallions have the best record in the South Division as they are 8-1 and will take on the 4-5 Tampa Bay Bandits. These teams played in Week 4, and the Stallions were able to pick up a 16-10 win behind kicker Brandon Aubrey going 3-for-4 for field goals to provide the difference.

He now leads the league with 73 kicking points and is the strength of the entire team right now to add points during any possession. Tampa Bay throws the ball well as quarterback Jordan Ta’amu leads the USFL with 12 passing touchdowns and should do well here.

These teams should be able to score well, so go with the over. The Birmingham Stallions -3.5 also feels like a lock with their ability to add points without finding the end zone, while Tampa Bay cannot do so.

Time: 4:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Birmingham 110.991; Tampa Bay 104.444
Dunkel Line & Total: Birmingham by 6 ½; 44
Vegas Line & Total: Birmingham by 3 ½; 40 ½
Dunkel Pick: Birmingham (-3 ½); Over

Michigan Panthers vs. Pittsburgh Maulers

The Michigan Panthers and the Pittsburgh Maulers will square off to conclude their seasons as both teams are currently 1-8 this season, and the loser will have the worst record in the USFL this season. They faced off in Week 3, and the Panthers picked up a 24-0 victory behind 245 rushing yards for Michigan.

Michigan has an elite offense compared to Pittsburgh as they are averaging 325.2 total yards per game, while Pittsburgh is averaging 256.1 total yards per game. The ball should be moving, and the points should be flying.

The Panthers do an incredible job on third down as they are leading the sport with a 43 third down percentage thus far. Compare that to the Maulers, who are sixth in the USFL with a 35.1 third down percentage.

These teams should be able to convert and extend drives, so Michigan -2.5 and the over seem to be the better options for this game.

Time: 12:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Michigan 110.099; Pittsburgh 95.074
Dunkel Line & Total: Michigan by 15; 47
Vegas Line & Total: Michigan by 2 ½; 42
Dunkel Pick: Michigan (-2 ½); Over

New Orleans Breakers vs. Houston Gamblers

The New Orleans Breakers are a dominant 8-1 this season and are getting ready for their playoff game next week, but before that are facing off against the 4-5 Houston Gamblers. These teams met in Week 4 this season, and the Breakers were able to pick up a 23-16 win.

The Breakers have been a great offensive team as quarterback Kyle Sloter leads the league with 1,798 passing yards while running back Jordan Ellis leads the USFL with 564 rushing yards, so they can move the chains at an effective rate. The Gamblers do not score many touchdowns and have to elect for field goals as they lead the sport with 71 kicking points this year.

The fact Houston does not find the end zone enough makes me worry about them reaching their implied total. Go with the Breakers to cover 3.5 points and the under to hit in this game, as they seem to be the best options here.

Time: 8:30 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: New Orleans 111.639; Houston 103.516
Dunkel Line & Total: New Orleans by 8; 32
Vegas Line & Total: New Orleans by 3 ½; 41 ½
Dunkel Pick: New Orleans (-3 ½); Under
