US Open Betting Preview

15 September 2020

The 120th US Open, which was originally planned for June 18-21, will take place this weekend from Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY. The 7,400-plus-yard course is a par 70 and certain to bring challenges to the best golfers in the world.

A season ago, Gary Woodland won this event and was the first US golfer to win since 2016 when Dustin Johnson took the title. There are several Americans at the top of the odds for this event, so let's take a look at our 2020 US Open Betting Preview.

Dustin Johnson +850

The absolute best golfer in the world right now, Dustin Johnson is on another level. The winner of the Northern Trust, and then the winner of the Tour Championship, this guy is absolutely on fire.

Oh yeah, and a second-place mixed in there. The last time Dustin Johnson was NOT in the mix at a tournament event was back in mid-July when he struggled at the 3M Open.

He is not doing any part of his game wrong right now. Johnson is the betting favorite, winning $85 for every $10 wagered.

Jon Rahm +900

Making 14 out of 15 cuts this season and winning two events, Jon Rahm can hang his hat on an outstanding 2020 season. Rahm is the second favorite in this event.

He is going to have to make sure he keeps his cool when he bogeys a hole or two, because, at Winged Foot, it is bound to happen. If he can keep himself under control and play golf the way he knows how, look out for Rahm.

Rahm would pay out $90 for every $10 wagered if you bet him to win the event.

Webb Simpson +2500

You have got to love Webb Simpson's game. This is a guy that can win this event, and it would really pay off. This is a $250 for every $10 spent guy.

Can you imagine the fun payout if the North Carolina native can take this down? Simpson made 12 out of 14 cuts this season and will enter the new season sixth in the official rankings. Simpson's last win came at the RBC Heritage back in June.

Justin Thomas +1400

If someone wanted to argue that Justin Thomas was the best golfer in the world, they might have a really good argument. Do not spend too long on it, because he is very close.

Thomas made 15 out of 18 cuts, finished with 10 Top 10 finishes, and won three events in 2020. JT won the event in Memphis at the end of July and then finished 37th at the PGA Championship.

There are some questions regarding his consistency right now, but they can be fixed. It's $140 for every $10 spent on Justin Thomas.

Rory McIlroy +1800

The "cut maker." He made every cut in 2020. He won one single event, which was before the shutdown, but he is always in the mix.

McIlroy has not won a major since 2014 but has won the Tour Championship twice. This season, he finished in a tie for eighth place

These are pretty good odds, as you can get paid $180 for every $10 spent on Rory.

Bryson DeChambeau +2800

You have got to love Bryson DeChambeau's chances. He is a student of the game and has probably spent many hours studying the course at Winged Foot. Now, can he put that to good use with his skill?

Bryson took a share of fourth place at the PGA Championship. He was not heard from a ton, but his game just kept getting better. His lone win on tour was at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

He is the underdog of this field of six we mention. You can win $280 for every $10 you spend on Bryson DeChambeau.

We are really looking forward to this great event. We hope you can win some wagers on the big contest and also enjoy the action. Best of luck with all your betting, especially on the 2020 US Open!
