Las Vegas, Nevada, is once again the site of some terrific college basketball games this weekend as the CBS Sports Classic is set to begin. The first game of the day will feature the UCLA Bruins taking on the UNC Tar Heels in a matchup of college basketball blue bloods.

UCLA advanced all the way to the Final Four a season ago, and they are back in the top-five this season. The Bruins come into Saturday with an 8-1 record, and the only loss of the season came against the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

UNC entered the 2021-22 season with some questions, but they have played pretty well to begin the year. The Tar Heels have won eight of their first ten games, but this is going to be a pretty big challenge on Saturday.

UCLA Does it All Well

There is a reason that UCLA advanced to the Final Four a season ago, and it’s because this team can get it done on both ends of the floor. UCLA is averaging more than 81 points per game this season while holding opponents to just 65 points per game.

Johnny Juzang became a household name in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, and he has been a star this year as well. Juzang leads the Bruins with 16.6 points per game, but he has also gotten plenty of help.

Point guard Tyger Campbell is going to push the tempo for the Bruins, and they will wear down North Carolina.

Tar Heels Tough to Stop

North Carolina might not be as complete of a team like the Bruins, but they are even better on the offensive side of the floor. The Tar Heels are scoring over 80 points per game, and they are shooting nearly 50 percent from the floor.

North Carolina has a number of players leading the way, but they just don’t have a ton of depth. Caleb Love leads the team with 16.2 points and 3.9 assists per game, and he will try to go head to head with the stars for UCLA.

The Tar Heels are giving up 71 points per game, and that defense will have to find a way to slow down the Bruins.

Bruins Beat Up on Tar Heels

North Carolina has rattled off five straight wins, and a victory over Michigan was included in this run. The Tar Heels are coming into this game with a ton of momentum, but they are still set to face a team that has much more talent.

UCLA hasn’t had any trouble beating up on most of the teams on their schedule, and they will want to make another statement on Saturday. The Bruins are going to have home-court advantage as well since this game will be played closer to home.

UNC might be able to keep this game close for a while, but UCLA is simply too talented, and the Bruins will wear down the Tar Heels. Bet on the UCLA Bruins on Saturday afternoon as they come away with a double-digit victory over the UNC Tar Heels.
