Travelers Championship 2023 Betting Preview

The PGA Tour continues to march along, and this week the best golfers in the world will head up to Connecticut for the Travelers Championship. This tournament will be played at TPC River Highlands, and there is a pretty impressive group of golfers that are set to battle it out.
Xander Schauffele won the event last year, and he is a player that is expected to be in contention again this year. Even though the U.S. Open just wrapped up, this is an event that the best golfers in the world don’t want to miss.

Loaded Group of Favorites
There are two golfers that appear to have separated themselves from the pack a bit, but that’s not the case with every single event. There are really five golfers to consider the betting favorites this weekend, and the odds are pretty tight.
- Scottie Scheffler +600
- Jon Rahm +1000
- Rory McIlroy +1000
- Patrick Cantlay +1100
- Xander Schauffele +1400
You can pretty much expect to see Scheffler as the betting favorite in any golf tournament that he enters, as he just continues to be extremely consistent. Rahm and McIlroy are good enough to contend this weekend as well, and they have had some success at this event.
Cantlay is a player that is still waiting to break through a bit, but he has proven that he has the skills to win a bunch of golf tournaments. Since Schauffele just won this event last year, he is a golfer to watch this weekend as well.
If you are going to bet on the Travelers Championship, then it would be wise to keep your eyes on someone from this group.
Plenty of Big Names
While the group of betting favorites is extremely impressive, you shouldn’t stop there when looking at the odds. Those five golfers are playing better than most others on tour, but it was Wyndham Clark that just came out of nowhere to win the U.S. Open.
The Travelers is an event that can provide some big challenges to golfers and that will keep even more players in the mix. Here is a look at some of the other golfers that you will want to keep your eye on:

Rahm Rebounds With Win
Jon Rahm did not play his best golf at the U.S. Open, but he still put up a very respectable score. Rahm is typically a golfer that bounces back in a hurry, and that should be expected in this event as well.
This will be a crowded leaderboard at the Travelers Championship, and Scheffler and Rahm are going to be going back and forth. In the end, it will be Jon Rahm that gets the job done, and betting on him at +1000 is going to be the way to go.
