Top 5 NFLers Poised for a 2023 Breakout Season
11 February 2023

The 2022 NFL season is not yet over, as we still need a Super Bowl winner. That game is only going to involve two teams, though, and it's time to start looking ahead to 2023 for the rest of the National Football League.
There were some great individual performances this season, but most of the best seasons were had by players that have already established themselves as some of the top players in football. It's now time to start looking ahead and trying to identify those players that could emerge as breakout stars.
Here are five NFLers that are poised for a huge 2023 season.
Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers)
Brock Purdy technically burst onto the scene in 2022, as he was not supposed to get any playing time for the San Francisco 49ers. Injuries forced him into action, and he was able to take the job and run with it.
Purdy had 13 touchdowns in nine games in 2022, but his season ended with a rough injury in the NFC Championship Game. Assuming that Purdy is able to start the year healthy, then he should be in for a huge 2023 season.
Kenneth Walker III (Seattle Seahawks)
Kenneth Walker III of the Seattle Seahawks narrowly missed out on winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award in 2022. Walker actually had the most first-place votes, but it was Garrett Wilson that came away with the award.
That just means that Walker will be trying for more next season, and he should be the Seahawks' starting running back from Week 1. Walker is going to be one of the top running backs in the NFL next season as he emerges as a true star.
Chris Olave (New Orleans Saints)
Chris Olave of New Orleans still put up big numbers at the wide receiver position in 2022, and he was able to get that done despite not having a true quarterback. Olave could be in line for an even bigger season in 2023, as he is going to emerge as one of the best wide receivers in the league.
Olave was terrific at Ohio State, and he has all of the tools and talent to be one of the best in the league. Expect to see some monster games from the WR next season.
Bryce Young (TBD)
While it's not yet official, many people are projecting that former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is going to be the number one pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Young put up ridiculous numbers at Alabama, and he did it against some of the best defensive teams in the country.
The team that picks Young is going to expect him to be in the lineup right away, and he could end up being one of the better quarterbacks in the league next season.
CJ Stroud (TBD)
CJ Stroud is another player that is going to hear his name called early in the 2023 NFL Draft, and the former Ohio State quarterback lit it up at the collegiate level. Stroud has shown that he can throw the deep ball, and he is definitely going to be a player that breaks into the lineup right away.
The team that Stroud goes to will have some impact on how much success he can have, but he is talented enough to be a breakout star in 2023.
