The Memorial Tournament 2023 Betting Preview
31 May 2023

The Memorial Tournament is always a popular stop on the PGA Tour calendar as it's played at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. Muirfield Village was designed by Jack Nicklaus, and it provides a challenge to all of the golfers that are set to tee it up.
While there are some PGA Tour events that don't always have a loaded field, that is not going to be the case this weekend. Nearly all of the top golfers in the world are expected to tee it up, and it should lead to a terrific weekend of golf.
Here is a quick preview of the Memorial Tournament, and a Dunkel betting pick and prediction is included as well.
The Betting Favorites
For most golf tournaments in recent years, you would see a long list of betting favorites, but that's no longer the case with how the current PGA Tour season is shaping up. Two golfers appear to be separating themselves from the rest of the pack, and those two golfers are the favorites this weekend.
Scottie Scheffler is the favorite at +600, and Jon Rahm is right behind him at +700. These two superstar golfers have had their shares of battles throughout the season already, and the odds favor that taking place again at Muirfield Village.
With both golfers hoping to make a run at the US Open, this event will give them a chance to get things in line to make that happen. The odds don't guarantee that Scheffler and Rahm will be on top at the end of the weekend, but it's hard to see them not in the mix.
Other Golfers to Watch
Even though Scheffler and Rahm have proven to have more talent than most of the other golfers on the tour, crazy things can happen in a golf tournament. With that in mind, there are other golfers to keep your eye on this weekend at The Memorial.
- Patrick Cantlay +1000
- Xander Schauffele +1200
- Rory McIlroy +1200
- Viktor Hovland +1800
- Tyrell Hatton +2200
- Collin Morikawa +2200
- Jason Day +2500
- Justin Thomas +2800
- Everyone Else +3000 or Higher
As you can see from the betting odds above, you can get great value if you decide to bet on any of the other golfers on the list. There are still some big names in the group of contenders, and several of those golfers have had success at this event.
Rahm Able to Outduel Scheffler
The leaderboard is going to be full of big names all weekend long, and Scheffler and Rahm are going to be in the mix as well. It would take a great effort from a golfer outside of those two to get the job done, and it's just not going to be in the cards.
Scottie Scheffler might be the betting favorite to win the Memorial, but it will be the other big name that gets the job done. Bet on Jon Rahm at +700 to win The Memorial tournament by sneaking past Scheffler on the final round to come up with the title.
