TCU Horned Frogs at Kansas Jayhawks Betting Preview
04 October 2022

When the Kansas Jayhawks were scheduled to host the TCU Horned Frogs for a Week 6 college football matchup, no one expected it would mean a ton. That’s not the case now, though, as both teams are in the Top 25 and are sitting atop the standings in the Big 12 Conference.
TCU comes into this game with a perfect 4-0 record, and they are also heading to Kansas with a ton of momentum. The Horned Frogs destroyed Oklahoma in Week 5 to jump into the Top 25 at number 17.
Kansas is off to its best start in years as the Jayhawks are a perfect 5-0 and are up to number 19 in the most recent poll. The Jayhawks have yet to play a Top 25 opponent, though, and this is going to be a great test to see where they are at.
The TCU Horned Frogs are 5.5-point betting favorites on the road over the Kansas Jayhawks.
Duggan Doing it All For TCU
The TCU Horned Frogs have a superstar in quarterback Max Duggan, and he lit it up in Week 6 against the Oklahoma Sooners. Duggan comes into this game with 11 touchdowns through the air, but he can also take off and run when needed.
Kendre Miller has racked up 386 rushing yards, and five touchdowns on the ground and the Horned Frogs will also be looking to establish that part of the offense. TCU will be facing a Kansas team that has gotten stops of late, but this offense is impressive.
The Horned Frogs are allowing 22 points per game, but that defense has some momentum after quieting the Oklahoma attack.
Kansas Defense Getting Stops
Kansas had been winning games with offense through the first four weeks, but it was the defense that shined in Week 5. The Jayhawks held Iowa State to just 11 points, and that unit is going to have to step up again in this one.
The offensive numbers for Kansas are extremely impressive, and that unit has easily been the biggest surprise this season. Kansas is scoring 41 points per game, and they are getting it done with a ton of balance.
Quarterback Jalon Daniels has thrown 11 touchdown passes to just one interception this season, and the Jayhawks are also averaging over 200 rushing yards per game.
TCU Takes Control Over Kansas
These two teams were not expected to be at the top of the Big 12 Conference standings entering Week 6, but here we are. Even though both teams are coming into this game without a loss, it seems pretty clear that TCU is the much better overall team.
The Horned Frogs just destroyed Oklahoma in Week 5, and they have an offense that is going to do a ton of damage in this game as well. Kansas has gotten off to an impressive start to begin the year, but they have some flaws that are going to be exposed in this game.
Bet the TCU Horned Frogs -5.5 as they go into Lawrence, Kansas, and pick up a double-digit win over the Jayhawks.
