The Yankees have dropped the first two games of their series against the Red Sox to fall 7 1/2 games behind Boston on the AL East and now have the added burden of dealing with a depleted pitching staff after J.A Happ was put on the disabled list with hand, foot and mouth disease. That's left NY manager Aaron Boone no choice but to go with rookie Chance Adams, who will be making his MLB debut today after going 3-5 with a 4.50 ERA in 21 starts in Triple-A. Adams will face the recently-acquired Nathan Eovaldi, who looked sharp in his Boston debut as he beat Minnesota, 3-0, on Sunday while holding the Twins to four hits over seven innings.
