For the first time since they called up Mike Trout, the Angels are having to play without their All-Star outfielder, who is on the DL for the first time in his career. Not having that bat in the lineup has been a challenge for manager Mike Scioscia as he tries to piece together a productive offense. Last night they came up short as the Halos could manage only 2 runs off Kansas City starter Matt Strahm, who was making his first career start, and 3 relievers. Tonight, the Trout-less Angels will see if they can fare better as they host the Royals in the second game of their series.
