Dunkel Pick: Oregon (-17); Over

Pac-12 Conference rivals meet up on Saturday night in Eugene, Oregon, as the Oregon Ducks are set to host the Stanford Cardinal. This matchup has delivered some classic games over the last few seasons, but that’s not expected in this one.

Stanford comes into this game with a record of just 1-2, and it’s been a rough start for the Cardinal. This team has lost two straight games to begin Pac-12 Conference play, and neither game has been particularly close.

Oregon could not have had a worse start to the 2022 season as they were blown out by Georgia. The Ducks have bounced back in a hurry as they have now won three straight games to bet back on track.

The Oregon Ducks are pretty big betting favorites in this game, as the spread is set at 17.0 points.

Stanford Can Score

The Stanford Cardinal might be just 1-2 on the year, but this team has plenty of offense. Stanford is scoring over 30 points per game, and they have gotten it done with a pretty balanced attack.

Quarterback Tanner McKee appears to have all of the talent needed to be a star, but he has thrown four interceptions through three games. Stanford has been throwing the ball deep this season, but look for them to run it in this game.

Stanford can’t keep up is the fact that they are allowing over 30 points per game. Stanford has been getting gashed on the ground, and the defensive line must step up in this one.

Ducks Must Focus on Defense

Most college football teams are now focused on winning games with offense, and Oregon definitely is a part of that group as well. The Ducks are scoring right around 40 points per game, but they are also giving up 31.5 points per night.

The secondary for Oregon has been the biggest issue as that unit is allowing over 300 passing yards per game. On the offensive end, Oregon continues to play extremely fast, and they are averaging 495 yards of offense.

Quarterback Bo Nix is having a great first season with the Ducks as he has thrown for 1,100 yards and ten touchdowns through four games. The Ducks will be pushing the tempo in this game, and that offense will eventually wear down the Cardinal.

Ducks Deliver Pain to Stanford

After scoring just three points in the season opener, the Oregon offense has been nearly unstoppable since. Oregon is still giving up way too many points per game, but they shouldn’t have any trouble running away from Stanford with the offense.

Stanford has given up at least 40 points in each of their first two Pac-12 Conference games, and it’s not going to be a good day for that defense. This game looks to be a mismatch on paper, and it’s hard to see it playing out any differently on the field.

Bet the Oregon Ducks -17.0 as they roll to a win by more than three touchdowns over the Stanford Cardinal.

Prop Picks

First Half Spread: Oregon (-115) OVER 9.5 Points

Oregon has a point differential of +3.0 (44-41) in Pac-12 conference games this season. Stanford has a point differential of -31 (50-81) in conference games.

With Dunkel predicting an Oregon win by the score of 45-23, take the Ducks (-115) to finish OVER the Vegas first half spread of 9.5 points against the Cardinal.
