When the A's completed a four-game sweep over the Yankees during the weekend, Oakland manager Bob Melvin was hoping it would trigger a playoff run similar to the one the A's put together in 2012 after a similar sweep of the Bronx Bombers. Last night's 4-1 loss to the Astros did not bode well, but Melvin is looking for a better outcome tonight with ace Sonny Gray on the mound as Oakland continues its series with Houston.
