It’s time for a very popular stop on the PGA Tour each year as the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open is set to take place at TPC at Summerlin. This event was founded all the way back in 1983, and it’s an event that tends to attract some big names each year.
That’s not going to be the case this weekend, though, as the Ryder Cup was just recently completed, and it had the top golfers in the world. There will still be plenty of professionals that show up in Las Vegas this weekend, and it could lead to quite the battle on the links.
Look for the course set up to be challenging at times for the golfers, but there will also be a good chance for scoring.

Two Clear Favorites
With some of the biggest golfers in the sport still taking some time off after the Ryder Cup, that makes the betting odds this weekend look a bit different than normal. While there is still plenty of value in golfers later down the line, there are two clear betting favorites as well.
Tom Kim is coming into this event as the betting favorite at +1100, and he’s a golfer that doesn’t usually get that treatment. Kim is certainly deserving when looking at the complete field for this event, but it’s understandable to pause when seeing him on top.
Ludvig Aberg has the second-best betting odds to win the Shriners Children’s Open, and he’s been one of the favorites in recent events. You always want to start by looking at the betting favorites for each tournament, but the names might look a bit different this weekend.
Contenders in the Mix
Since there are just two teams that can be considered a betting favorite this weekend, that means that the list of contenders is long. This is where you can really get value when betting on golf, especially in a tournament that has the odds fall off in a big way.
Si Woo Kim and Cam Davis are next on the list when it comes to betting favorites, as both golfers have odds set at +2200. J.T. Poston comes in at +2800 for this event, while Adam Schenk is next on the list at +3000.
The betting odds change in a big way after this group of golfers, but you should still give them a look so that you can cash in with a big payout.
Aberg Defeats Kim in Thriller
It’s not very often that the top two betting favorites end up being in contention, but that’s going to be the case this weekend. Kim and Aberg are both simply too good to be ignored this weekend, and they are going to get themselves a chance at winning the event.
There will be some other golfers that play well this weekend also, but it’s just too hard to go against one of the betting favorites. Tom Kim is going to be looking to play well at a course that he likes, but he is going to come up short.
