After a stop in Mississippi, the PGA Tour heads to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the 2022 Shriners Children’s Hospital Open. This is the third tournament of the PGA Tour Fall Swing and the 39th edition of the event that’s been held annually around the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The four-day individual stroke play event begins on Thursday, October 6th, and ends on Sunday, October 9th.
The tournament has been held at numerous locations since its inception in 1983, but recently the event’s been played at TPC at Summerlin just to the northwest of downtown Las Vegas.
Sungjae Im secured his second victory on the PGA Tour in 2021, running away with a four-shot victory over Matthew Wolff. Im tied the four-day total aggregate score low of 260, shooting 24-under par.
The tournament carries an $8 million dollar purse, with the victor walking away with $1.44 million of it. Additionally, the winner will earn 500 FedEx Cup points, a two-year exemption on Tour, and entry into all of next year’s major tournaments.

The Field
A solid field for a fall tournament makes its way to Sin City, led by 2017 winner and Presidents Cup member Patrick Cantlay. Cantlay, the four-ranked player in the world, is one of 12 players ranked inside the Top-50 teeing it up.
Max Homa, the winner of the Fortinet Championship and teammate of Cantlay’s in the Presidents Cup, returns to TPC at Summerlin, where he has made the cut just twice in six tries. Homa will be joined by eight players, including Im, from the Presidents Cup International team.
The Course
TPC at Summerlin is located 2,700 feet above sea level and was built in 1991. The course was designed by Bobby Weed with the help of player consultant Fuzzy Zoeller and is part of the Tournament Players Club network.
A par-71, the course measures 7,255 yards from the back tees. The layout features bentgrass greens, water hazards dotting many of the holes, and rugged terrain spanning through the Mojave Desert landscape.

Potential Winning Pick
Patrick Cantlay (-32.423) has owned this course with a victory, two runner-ups, and an eighth-place finish. It is his first time teeing it up this season, but the 2021 FedEx Cup champion went 3-1-0 two weeks ago in the Presidents Cup.
Prop Pick
Top 20 Finish: Max Homa (-155)
It was a great start to the season for Homa with a win at the Fortinet Championship, which made it back-to-back years for the 10-year pro. He’s also coming off a season where he added another title at the Wells Fargo Championship and had 15 Top 25 finishes in 24 events played.
Rated No. 1 in this week’s Dunkel Index, he could make it two-in-a-row this weekend, but at a minimum take Homa (-155) to rack up another Top 20 finish.
Top 20 Finish: Aaron Wise (-125)
Wise will be making his first appearance of the season following a year that saw the 26-year-old finish in the Top 25 in 11 of 24 events, including a second-place finish at the Memorial Tournament. He showed a good combination of power and touch while finishing 39th in driving distance (308.3) and 21st in greens in regulation percentage (69.06%).
Rated No. 4 in this week’s Dunkel Index, take Wise (-125) to get off to a strong start and finish in the Top 20 in Nevada.
Top 20 Finish: Rickie Fowler (+220)
Flower began the 2022-23 season with a T6 in Napa at the Fortinet Championship, a welcoming sign for a golfer that has been battling his game for years. A new caddie and return to coach Butch Harmon could mean big things for Fowler this season.
Rated No. 18 in this week's Dunkel Index, Fowler could be regaining his form and at +220 looks to be worth the price at finishing in the Top 20 again this week.
