Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview/Player Prop
17 October 2021

The Sunday Night Football matchup in Week 6 features a pair of teams that could desperately use a win. The Pittsburgh Steelers host the Seattle Seahawks, and both teams enter this game with a record of just 2-3.
Seattle has had an interesting season up to this point, and they have been one of the hardest teams in the league to figure out. The Seahawks suffered a 26-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams a week ago and also lost some of their key players.
Pittsburgh suffered through a brutal three-game losing streak already this season, but they bounced back a bit in Week 5. The Steelers are now looking for their second win in a row to get back in the AFC North Division race.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are 4.5-point betting favorites over the Seattle Seahawks in this Week 6 matchup.
Seahawks Will Need to Run
The Seattle Seahawks will be without quarterback Russell Wilson on Sunday, and they are also missing two of their top running backs. That won’t change the formula for Seattle as they must find a way to run the football effectively to win this game.
Seattle is rushing for just 104 yards per game, but they have to establish the run to control the clock. Wide receiver Tyler Lockett will also have to deliver some big plays as he leads the team with 390 receiving yards.
The Seattle defense has given up over 25 points per game, but they have also faced some terrific offenses. Look for the Seahawks to play much better on that side of the ball in this matchup.
Can Pittsburgh Put Up Points?
The Steelers offense has been a major issue this season, only scoring 18.8 points per game. Pittsburgh has been able to move the ball at times, but they just haven’t been able to find the end zone.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has thrown for 1,286 yards this season, but he also has four touchdowns. The Steelers need their veteran quarterback to be more accurate on Sunday night if they want to pick up a win.
The defense has been dominant in the only two wins of the season for Pittsburgh, and that unit will need to do the job again. Pittsburgh can create pressure on the opposing quarterback, and that will be a key in this matchup.
Seahawks Stun the Steelers
The Seattle Seahawks come into this game without their star quarterback, but don’t expect this team to use that as an excuse. Head coach Pete Carroll has a proven track record of success, and he will have his team ready to compete in this game.
Pittsburgh has not been a good offensive team this season, and they are going to find it hard to score against this Seahawks team. The Steelers have a golden opportunity to build some momentum with a win, but there is a reason that this team is just 2-3 on the year.
Look for the Seahawks to play some inspired football in this matchup, and they won’t be denied. Bet the Seattle Seahawks moneyline as they go into Pittsburgh and stun the Steelers on Sunday night.
Player Prop
Najee Harris (-175) To Score A TD
Pittsburgh’s sputtering offense may have found a solution in the rookie from Alabama. After a slow start, Harris began to pick it up in Week 4 against Green Bay as he rushed for 62 yards (4.1 average) and found the end zone.
Then last week against a highly-rated Broncos defense, Harris did his best Jerome Bettis imitation with 122 rushing yards on 23 carries (5.3 average) and another TD. He’s also shown an ability to catch the ball out of the backfield as he recorded 14 catches in Week 3 against Cincinnati and added a TD catch in Week 2 against Las Vegas.
And, of course, finding the end zone was nothing new for Harris at Alabama. After scroing 20 TDs (13 rushing, 7 receiving) in his junior year, Harris finished out his career with the Tide with 30 TDs (26 rushing, 4 receiving) in his senior season.
The Steelers have traditionally relied on a power back to help balance the offense and look to have found it in Harris. Needing a win to get back to .500, we’ll look for Pittsburgh to continue to rely heavily on their first round draft pick and take Harris (-175) to score a TD tonight against Seattle.
