Seattle Mariners at New York Yankees Betting Preview

22 June 2023 By Cole Paganelli

The Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees are set to wrap up a three-game series on Thursday night in the Bronx. This has been a great series for the home team as the Yankees are looking to complete the sweep of the Mariners.

Seattle came into the 2023 season with plenty of optimism, but they haven’t lived up to the hype yet this season. The Mariners are now just 35-37 on the year, and they have lost three of their last four games.

The Yankees were swept by the Boston Red Sox over the weekend, but they have been able to bounce back at home in this series. New York is now sitting at 41-33 on the year, which is good enough for third place in the AL East Division.

The New York Yankees are moneyline betting favorites at -119 in the series finale on Thursday night.

Seattle Not Slugging This Season

The Seattle Mariners ended up having a terrific offense by the end of the 2022 season, but that hasn’t carried over into 2023. Seattle has belted just 77 home runs this season, and that’s more than 30 less than their opponent this week.

Teoscar Hernandez is leading the way with 12 home runs, but he hasn’t gotten a ton of help in the power department. Seattle is a team that can grind out at bats and get on base, but at some point, they need to show off some power.

Bryan Woo is set to make the start on Thursday night, and he is 0-1 with a 7.30 ERA this season. The Mariners do have a solid team ERA of just 3.88, but Woo is going to struggle against the Yankees.

Yankees Trying to Win Without Judge

Aaron Judge is currently on the injured list with a toe injury, and he still leads the team with 19 home runs and 40 RBIs. The Yankees have managed to score just 15 total runs in their last five games, and they need to find a way to generate more offense without the MVP.

New York will have a solid starting pitcher on the mound in this game, as Domingo German will make the start. German has gone 4-4 with a 4.30 ERA this season, and he will look to keep the Mariners at bay in this one.

Yankees Sweep Seattle

Both of the first two games in this series have been competitive, but the Mariners just haven’t been able to find a way to score enough runs to get a win. You should expect more of the same on Thursday night, and the Yankees also have a big edge in the pitching matchup.

New York still isn’t the same team without Aaron Judge in the lineup, but that offense is going to have a big day on Thursday night. Seattle will once again find a way to keep this game close, but the final result will be the same.

Bet the New York Yankees -119 as they are able to win for a third straight time over the Seattle Mariners.
