San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Pick
27 May 2021

San Francisco Giants have won two straight games, and this has been an excellent season for this veteran squad. The Giants come into this game with a 30-19 record, and they currently sit in a second-place tie in the NL West.
The Dodgers are also tied for second in the West, but this team has been on a tear of late. Los Angeles just recently rattled off eight straight wins, and they come into this series with a ton of momentum.
The Giants are slight betting favorites over the Dodgers in the series opener.
Pitching Paving Way For Giants
The San Francisco Giants have a team ERA of 3.26, which is one of the best marks in baseball. The starting rotation has been setting the tone for the Giants, and they will have one of their best pitchers on the mound Thursday.
Alex Wood has gone 5-1 with a 1.93 ERA to begin the year, and having him on the mound always gives the Giants a chance. Wood will be facing a great offense in this one, and providing a quality start would be a win.
Brandon Crawford leads the team with 11 home runs and 32 runs batted in, and he is just one veteran hitting well for the Giants. However, San Francisco will need to score runs in this series if they want to pick up wins.
Los Angeles Finding Offense
The Dodgers are starting to score some runs, and the offense has carried them on this most recent surge. Los Angeles is still without some big names in the lineup, but it hasn’t slowed them down.
Los Angeles is third in MLB in total runs scored, and their .343 on-base percentage leads the way. The Dodgers are led on offense by Max Muncy and his .285 batting average to go along with 10 home runs and 26 RBIs.
The Dodgers have been even better on the mound than the Giants, but Los Angeles doesn’t have a starter lined up for Thursday night. Look for Los Angeles to win this game with offense, but they have enough pitching depth to get through.
Dodgers Destroy Giants
San Francisco is having a much better season than expected, but they are catching the Dodgers at a bad time. The Giants are going to need great performances from their pitching staff, but Los Angeles can really hit.
The Dodgers do have a bit of an issue with a starting pitcher on Thursday night, but it’s not going to matter. Los Angeles will break out the bats and take control of this game from the beginning.
San Francisco will win some games in this series, but they aren’t winning the series opener. Bet the Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 as they win this game by at least two runs on Thursday night.
