San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals Betting Preview
21 November 2022

We have a pretty great NFC West matchup scheduled for Monday night. The 5-4 San Francisco 49ers will head to Arizona to face off against the Cardinals.
The last two games have gone in favor of the 49ers, who recently beat the Los Angeles Chargers. With Christian McCaffrey in the backfield and Jimmy Garoppolo under center, they'll look for another win.
The Arizona Cardinals are coming off a 27-17 win over the Los Angeles Rams. However, they still have a 4-6 record and are third in the NFC West. In order to increase their standing, they need to get a win over the 49ers today.
It won't mean they'll take the second-place spot, but they'll get one step closer. With several players injured, can they pull off a win at home?
San Francisco 49ers: 49ers should plan to face Murray
At the moment, Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is listed as "questionable" on the injury sheet. However, earlier in the week, Murray said he felt "good," but his status remains unknown.
In our opinion, the 49ers should prepare as if he's going to take the field. His backup, Colt McCoy, is much less of a threat than Murray is. The good news is the 49ers have a strong defense.
Ranking sixth in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers allow just 18.1 points per game. We've seen this defense in action recently against teams like the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.
They allowed just 16 points when they faced the Chargers, one of the best teams in the league. Their offense isn't too bad either, averaging 22 points per game this season.
Arizona Cardinals: Cardinals need to do better on defense
There are a few things that the Arizona Cardinals do really well. One of them is putting points on the board, ranking 12th in the NFL with 23 points per game.
There are still a few problems we see with this offense, however. The main one is they're averaging just 113.1 rushing yards per game, ranking 19th overall. The other is that Kyler Murray is their leading rusher this season.
However, the offense is still a potent group of talented players. Our main concern for the Cardinals is their defense, or lack thereof. This season, the Cardinals are allowing 25.8 points per game.
This ranks as one of the worst defenses in points allowed throughout the NFL. As they face the 49ers, they better tighten up, or they'll find themselves in a bad position.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals Betting Pick
The San Francisco 49ers come into this game as eight-point favorites. This is a bit of a problem, considering they're 4-5 against the spread this season. Keep in mind the 49ers have a 3-7 record against the Arizona Cardinals in their last ten games.
The Arizona Cardinals have a 5-5 record against the spread this season. Being spotted over eight points is quite a wide margin of error. Considering Kyler Murray could play today, we'll go with the Cardinals at +8.5.
