The Padres, however, scored two in the sixth, and that worked well enough for a win. This final game is all about pitching, which is why the Padres are starting one of their best.
Getting the start in tonight’s game is Joe Musgrove, who is 8-2 as a starter. Not only does Musgrove have an impressive record but an ERA of 2.42 to back it up. With Musgrove on the mound, the Padres definitely have an edge in terms of pitching.
Batting, however, goes to the Mets since the Padres have an average of .240. Still, this hasn’t prevented them from winning.

They might have an edge over the Padres statistically, but they haven’t shown it on the field. Carlos Carrasco will get the start on the mound tonight; Carrasco has a record of 10-4.
Although he has more wins than Musgrove, he has an ERA of 4.27, which is far worse. Batting is what will help them win this game. If they can’t put up runs, the Mets will lose this game as well.
