Summer may not be over, but the Kansas City Royals bats have already gone ice cold. KC was shut out for the fourth straight game last night by Tampa Bay, 12-0, and is just five innings shy of the MLB record for consecutive scoreless innings (48) set by the 1968 Cubs and 1906 Philadelphia A's. The Royals will see if they can chip away at the Rays' Alex Cobb tonight as they continue their series against Tampa Bay at Kauffman Stadium.
