Potential Winning Picks
Matthias Schwab +4000
Coming in ranked as the 88th-best golfer in the official world golf rankings, Schwab has a top finish of tied for third at the Barracuda Championship. That finish adds to two top 10 finishes for his career.
Last year, he was able to tie for fourth at the World Golf Championships - HSBC Champions. This event has some great talent, and he is expected to perform well here.
Henrik Stenson +2500
Stenson is definitely a fan favorite, as one of the few golfers with a long list of wins on his resume. However, the 2016 Open champ has not made the cut in three out of four PGA Tour events this season, including both majors.
Stenson has 48 top 10 finishes, 10 second-place finishes, and 10 third-place finishes. He really stands out in class for this event.
Adam Long +2200
According to Golfweek world rankings, Long ranks as the 42nd-best golfer. Over his career, he has five top 10 finishes.
He recently tied for 13th at the U.S. Open, which arguably had more competition than this event. With that being said, he could really thrive in this competition.
Winner of this Event
Narrowing down the top five is no easy task, as these golfers are arguably some of the best to win this event. The odds of some of these golfers winning are so close that you could almost flip a coin for the outcome.
However, the golfer with the most appeal to win this event would be Henrik Stenson. He does not need much of an introduction, as the man has been professionally playing since 1999.
The previous winners of this event have had to score at least 18 under to win. For Stenson, he ranks 17th in the world for his approach to the green. He also ranks second in eagles per hole, as for the current season.
With those numbers in mind, he arguably has the experience and the scoring capabilities to end this event on a high note. He will need to be able to score here, and with those numbers, he should be able to do just that.
