PGA Championship Betting Preview

It’s time for the first major of the golf season. While it’s a little later than originally planned, the golf world is ready to turn its attention to TPC Harding Park. Brooks Koepka has won this event in back to back seasons, while Justin Thomas won the previous season. Neither of those two are in our picks to take down this year's version. Here is a look at our 2020 PGA Championship Betting Preview.

Rory Mcllroy +1400

Rory has made 11 out of 11 cuts this season. He has also finished in the Top 10 - 6 times in 2020. He is coming off a 47th place finish in Memphis. The problem for Rory has been his recent play. He has not finished inside the Top 10 since the return to golf. His 5th place finish was back in March. It will be interesting to see if he can turn it on, on the big stage.

Tiger Woods +3300

Woods just has not played very much golf this year. Not sure he is ready to compete at the elite level this weekend. His only event was mid July where he finished 40th. While he is an amazing golfer, it’s hard to predict Tiger goes through four straight days of great play. Woods fell down the betting odds a little bit over the last few weeks.

Bryson DeChambeau +1600

DeChambeau has been playing quite a bit of golf, with three events during July. He won the Rocket Mortgage Classic, but then missed the cut at the Memorial and went 30th in Memphis. DeChambeau is a guy that can hit the golf ball a long way, and this is a long course. Can he get the job done with all the best players in the field?

Jon Rahm +1400

Ranked as the top golfer in the world, but coming off a 52nd place finish in Memphis. This came after his win at the Memorial. This season, Rahm has that lone win, and has made the cut in 11 out of 12 events. Rahm has 6 Top 10 finishes.

Others to Consider:

Rickie Fowler +3500

Fowler had a really good first three days in Memphis, but his 73 dropped him out of the Top 10. He has finished inside the Top 10 - 3 times this season. Those were before the break in action, with back to back to start the season. Fowler is getting +3500 odds, so considered a long shot, but heading to California may be just what the doctor ordered for him.

Webb Simpson +2500

Simpson won the RBC Heritage back in June, and then finished 8th the following week. Since then though, a missed cut at the Memorial and a 12th place finish in Memphis. Simpson has made the cut 9 out of 11 times, and finished in the Top 10 - 7 of those times. Webb is always a fun bet to make.

Jason Day +4000

Playing some of the best golf of anyone right now, without coming away with a win. In July, Day played in 3 events, and finished inside the Top 7 in all three of them. He has been steady and consistent, and that’s what will be needed in San Francisco. At +4000 - Day is a great bet to make with some of your bankroll.

Daniel Berger +3500

Berger finished 2nd at San Francisco, after shooting a 71 on Day 1. 67, 67 and 65 got him back in the mix. This is an emerging start, with 6 Top 10 finishes in his last 7 events.

San Francisco will be hopping and ready to go. We cannot wait for this to tee off, and see who can maneuver the course the best over the weekend. Best of luck, and enjoy the tournament!
