The next NASCAR event takes place in Vegas, with the third race of the season already favoring Kyle Larson to win again. The market seems to believe that this is Larson’s season again, but can he continue to stay dominant?

Betting Overview 

The Las Vegas Speedway is a 1.5-mile track that is very similar to the Kansas Speedway. Many drivers that have performed well there can easily translate their performances over to this track. 

With that being said, some drivers are still getting accustomed to their newer style of cars. This could help drivers that are out of the loop, so to speak, to win, but the last nine of 10 drivers that won began the race inside the top 13. 

Head to Head Matchup to Watch 

Kyle Larson (159.728) and Joey Logano (165.281) will arguably have the most attention for this race. Logano has an excellent history and is a two straight winner in 2019 and 2020. 

Larson is the defending champion of this event and is coming off of a recent victory. Between the two, Larson is slightly more appealing here based on recent performances.

Drivers That Could Win 

Martin Truex Jr (164.143) has had two 13th place finishes to start the season off. While not an exciting start, it is not the worst out there. He has been great at racing in Vegas, with an average finish at fifth place. 

Joey Logano (165.281) won this event in 2019 and once more in 2020. He has only finished outside the top 10 twice since 2014, which makes him a value pick here based on his history. Logano was in the mix to win in Fontana recently but came up short at fifth place. 

Potential Winning Pick 

Kyle Larson (159.728) has already proven what it takes to win in the next-gen cars and is the heavy favorite once again to win the Cup Series. The guy simply wants to win everything in sight, and he’s gunning for the victory every time. 

Having momentum from his recent victory and defying some odds in that race makes him a solid choice here. He has shown, in Fontana recently, that you do not have to have the best car in the entire race to win and that every moment counts.

Prop Picks

Matchup: Joey Logano (-120) OVER Denny Hamlin

After taking the Busch Lite Clash in the Cup Series opener, Logano has cooled off a bit, but it still coming off a Top 5 finish at Fontana.

Hamlin has had a rough start to the season, including crashing out at the Daytona 500 for the first time in his career.

With Logano rated No. 9 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Hamlin No. 13, these two veterans should be battling all day, but take Logano (-120) to get the edge in this matchup.

Matchup: Cole Custer (-120) OVER Chris Buescher

Custer took the Xfinity Series race in three overtimes at Fontana on Saturday and followed it up with a solid 11th place finish in the Cup Series race on Sunday.

Buescher will be making his 11th Cup start in Las Vegas where his averaging finishing position is 17.7 with only one Top 10 finish (2020).

With Custer rated No. 15 in this week’s Dunkel Index and Buescher No. 16, these two should be jockeying in the middle of the pack on Sunday, but take Custer (-120) to finish ahead of Buescher.
