Orlando Magic at Chicago Bulls Betting Preview
03 January 2022

>— Monday, January 03rd Orlando Magic @ Chicago Bulls
The 7-30 Orlando Magic head out to Chicago to face the 24-10 Bulls on Monday night. Clearly, the Magic are underdogs in this one and have lost five straight games. Getting a win over the Bulls won’t be easy, and the Magic are missing a few key players.
Can they overcome the odds and put together an outstanding performance. Or, is there a sixth straight loss on the horizon?
The Chicago Bulls are the polar opposite of the Orlando Magic. The Bulls have won seven straight games and are No.1 in the Eastern Conference. Led by DeMar DeRozan, the Bulls will look to add another tally in the win column.
Our biggest question is whether or not they’ll be able to cover the spread. Especially with three of their bench players missing from the lineup.
Orlando Magic: Can the spread make the Magic a good pick?
The Orlando Magic come into this game as 13.5-point underdogs. Although they’re very unlikely to win this game, covering the spread is a possibility. They’re 16-21 against the spread this season, which is pretty awful.
However, they do have a 13-9 ATS record when playing on the road this year. Perhaps that will give bettors a little more confidence in taking the Magic tonight.
Still, the talent of the Magic is the biggest question. They’ll be missing Cole Anthony, Robin Lopez, and Markelle Fultz. With those players out, scoring and rebounding will suffer. Without rebounding, the Bulls could easily run over the Magic.
Not to say the Magic don’t have a chance; it’s just unlikely, even for them to cover. However, the Bulls are missing players too.
Chicago Bulls: Are eight wins in a row on the way?
Stopping the Chicago Bulls seems like an impossible task for plenty of teams right now. They’ve claimed two wins over the Hawks and the Pacers and a win over the Lakers.
Those are just their most notable wins outside of their games against the Wizards. Now, the Orlando Magic come to town, and the Bulls are ready to rock, even with the injuries.
We know that some are likely concerned about Alex Caruso and Javonte Green being out of the lineup. However, you have to keep in mind that the Bulls have a deep and strong roster.
Not to mention, DeMar DeRozan and Zach Lavine are playing their best basketball. With so much talent on a roster, the Bulls are definitely capable of covering this spread.
Our pick for the Orlando Magic versus the Chicago Bulls
Although the Bulls come in as heavy favorites in this game, they’re the best bet. Chicago is 21-13 against the spread this year and 11-5 ATS at home.
They’re also likely to get Lonzo Ball back into the lineup, which is huge for the Bulls. The Magic offense doesn’t have enough talent to keep up with the scoring of the Chicago Bulls.
Not only that, you have to remember that Chicago has a pretty good defense too. They held the Nuggets to 97 points a few weeks ago. Take the Bulls to win this game and cover the spread, even if it seems a little too large.
