Oregon State Beavers at Arizona Wildcats Betting Preview/Prop Pick

One of the best teams in college basketball is in action on Thursday night, and they will be taking on a struggling conference opponent. Arizona will host the Oregon State Beavers in this one, and this looks like a complete mismatch on paper. 

Oregon State has currently lost ten straight games, and they have not been competitive in a number of those losses. The Beavers have gone just 3-20 on the year, and that is on the heels of making a deep NCAA Tournament a season ago.

Arizona was supposed to be improved this season, but no one predicted they would be this good. The Wildcats are 22-2 on the year, and they should be a team that can make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. 

The Arizona Wildcats are massive 24.5-point betting favorites over the Oregon State Beavers in this Pac-12 Conference matchup.

Beavers Not Playing Defense

Oregon State clearly has a number of issues this season, but their complete lack of defense is the biggest issue. The Beavers are giving up more than 75 points per game this season, and they are getting ready to plan an explosive team in this one.

Oregon State does have some offensive talent, but they are averaging just 67 points per game. The Beavers are shooting just 44 percent from the floor, and they sometimes struggle with taking good shots. 

Guard Jarod Lucas has done all he can for this team as he leads the way with 13.4 points per game. Lucas will have his hands full with the Arizona backcourt, but this Oregon State team isn’t as bad as their record might suggest. 

Arizona Playing With Pace

Arizona is averaging 85 points per game this season, and they are just a team that is absolutely loaded with talent. The Wildcats are also holding opponents to just 65 points per game, and most of their wins come in the blowout variety. 

Bennedict Mathurin has burst onto the scene this year, and he is averaging 17.0 points per game for the Wildcats. Point guard Kerr Krissa sets the tone for the Wildcats on offense, and this team is going to be pushing the pace in this matchup. 

Not only can Arizona really score, but they have been a terrific defensive team as well. The Wildcats have not been messing around this season, and they won’t look past the Beavers in this game.

Beavers Get Blown Out By Wildcats

There was some optimism surrounding the Oregon State program heading into this season, but things fell apart in a hurry. Now it appears that some members of that team have shut it down, and that’s not going to be good against Arizona.

The Wildcats are currently in line for a number 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and they are one of the betting favorites to win a title. Arizona has been extremely impressive at home, but they would beat up on the Beavers regardless of where this game took place. 

This game is going to be over by halftime, and the Wildcats are going to continue to dominate after the break as well. Take the Arizona Wildcats -24.5 and the OVER as they win this game by nearly 30 points.
