NHL Preseason/Thursday's Picks

The Colorado Avalanche look to pick up their first win of the preseason as they host the Minnesota Wild tonight. Game time is 9:00 pm ET at Ball Arena.

The Avs opened the preseason with a 4-3 loss at Vegas on Tuesday. Colorado was outshot, 29-22, and could not capitalize on any of their seven power-play opportunities

The Wild also dropped their preseason opener, 6-2, last Saturday at St. Louis. Minnesota tied it up, 2-2, at the 4:27 mark of the third period, but gave up four unanswered goals to close it out.
