NHL Preseason/Sunday's Picks
25 September 2022

The Buffalo Sabres and Washington Capitals open up their respective preseasons against each other this afternoon in Washington. Face off is 2:05 pm ET at Capital One Center.
Vegas has Washington listed as a favorite at -160 with an over/under total of 6.
The Capitals are coming off a 44-26-12 record (100 points) in 2021-22 that saw them make the playoffs only to lose in the first round to the Florida Panthers. A number of players, including veterans Nicklas Backstrom, Carl Hagelin and Tom Wilson, are limited in the preseason while recovering from injuries.
The Sabres missed the postseason for the 11th straight year in 2021-22, but did finish with a 16-13-3 record over their final 32 games after winning just 16 of their first 50. Buffalo also shook up its lineup by moving former first-round draft picks Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart.
Dunkel has the Capitals opening with a victory at home today while the defenses hold the final score under the Vegas total of 6.
