NFL Week 16 Betting Preview
21 December 2022

Week 16 of the NFL is spread out across four days, and that is going to create some excitement all weekend long. There are some big games on the schedule, and that also provides some interesting betting opportunities.
Here is a quick look at each of the NFL Week 16 matchups, with a Dunkel pick and prediction for each of them.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New York Jets -1.0
The Jets are hoping to stay in the AFC Playoff race with a win on Thursday night, but they are facing a Jaguars team that has some momentum. Weather is going to impact the outcome of this game, but it won't be enough to help New York win.
Take the Jets' moneyline as they pull off another upset win on Thursday Night Football.
Buffalo Bills -8.5 vs. Chicago Bears
The Bears host the Bills in what could end up being the coldest game in the history of Soldier Field. Both teams are going to run the football a ton in this game, and that should keep things tight. Buffalo is going to win this game, but taking the points is the way to go with this matchup.
New Orleans Saints vs. Cleveland Browns -3.0
The Browns need a win in Cleveland if they want any chance of staying in the playoff race. The Saints are a team that is headed in the wrong direction, and they have no answer at quarterback. It won't be a dominant win, but bet on Cleveland to win and cover the spread.
Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans -7.0
The Titans have lost four straight games, and that losing streak simply has to end on Saturday. Tennessee is hosting a Houston team that doesn't have any real hope, and the Titans should run all over them to win and cover the spread.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Kansas City Chiefs -9.0
The Chiefs have a history of playing down to their competition, and that could give the Seahawks some hope in this game. That's not going to happen on Saturday, though, as the Chiefs will roll to a big win over the Seattle Seahawks.
New York Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings -3.5
Minnesota is 11-3 on the year despite having a point differential that is negative. The Vikings are hosting a desperate Giants team, but a team that might actually be more complete. Take the Giants' moneyline as they go into Minnesota and pull off an upset.
Cincinnati Bengals -3.5 vs. New England Patriots
The Bengals head to New England with a ton of momentum, but that offense could face a challenge with the weather. New England has a defense that can dominate a game, and that's what will happen in this one. Bet on the Patriots at home to pull off the upset in this game.
Detroit Lions -2.5 vs. Carolina Panthers
At this point of the season, it appears that there is no stopping the Detroit Lions. Detroit is back to the .500 mark, and they are facing a Panthers team that is headed in the wrong direction. Take the Lions to both win and cover the spread.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Baltimore Ravens -8.0
The Ravens need a win over the Falcons on Sunday to get back in the AFC North race. Baltimore is expected to get Lamar Jackson back on the field, and that should provide a huge boost. Take the Ravens to win and cover the spread against a Falcons team that just can't seem to get stops.
Washington Commanders vs. San Francisco 49ers -7.0
The Commanders head to San Francisco looking to slow down the 49ers, but that's easier said than done. Washington has a solid defense, but that offense is simply too hard to trust. Look for San Francisco to win this game by double-digits as they cover the spread.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys -6.0
The Cowboys look to slow down the Eagles' magic in Week 16, but that's easier said than done. Philadelphia just continues to find ways to win games, and that trend is going to continue into Week 16. Take the Eagles' moneyline as they pick up an impressive win over their biggest rival.
Las Vegas Raiders vs. Pittsburgh Steelers -2.5
The Raiders and Steelers have both been impossible to figure out this season, and they now meet up in Week 16. This game is going to be tight, but it will be the Raiders and their offense that win this game on the road.
Green Bay Packers vs. Miami Dolphins -6.0
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers try to keep their winning streak going as they head to Miami to face the Dolphins. This game should feature plenty of passing attempts, and that's going to favor the Dolphins in the end.
Take the points as the Packers keep this game close, but the Dolphins will pick up the win.
Denver Broncos -2.0 vs. Los Angeles Rams
A couple of bad and disappointing teams meet in LA on Sunday as the Rams host the Denver Broncos. It's going to be hard for points to be scored in this game, as both offenses have been a disaster up to this point.
Playing at home should give the Rams a slight edge as they win to pull off an upset.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers -6.0 vs. Arizona Cardinals
Tom Brady and the Buccaneers simply have to win this game against the Cardinals. Arizona is without quarterback Kyler Murray, and they weren't a good team even when he was playing.
It's been a grind for the Buccaneers, but Tampa Bay wins this one and also covers the spread.
Los Angeles Chargers -4.0 vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts just lost a game in the most impossible fashion in Week 15, and they have had a rough season. The Chargers need to win this game for playoff purposes, and that will have them focused in this game.
It won't be a blowout, but the Chargers will win this game and cover the spread.
