NFL Rolls Into November

The NFL moved into November with the trade deadline looming. On the field, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills picked up big wins.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts suffered injuries to star players.

And on Monday, the Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns entered COVID-19 protocols that could put their Week 9 games in doubt.

Steelers Win AFC North Showdown

The last remaining unbeaten team in the NFL is the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-0). The Steelers rallied to beat rival Baltimore on Sunday to stay in first place in the AFC North.

With the win, the Steelers Super Bowl LV odds jumped up to +500, second only to the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs at +333. The loss to the Steelers dropped the Ravens' Super Bowl odds to +900, fifth-best in the league.

Pittsburgh travels to 2-6 Dallas this week for a 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday kickoff, and the line is off the board until the Cowboys announce a starting quarterback.

Division Races

The AFC East and NFC East races gained some clarity as the Buffalo Bills beat the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys. The 6-2 Bills now have a two-game lead over Miami in the AFC East and are -700 to win the division.

The NFC East is still a mess, but the Eagles are -245 to win the division with a 3-4-1 record. The Tennessee Titans losing to the Cincinnati Bengals created a 5-2 tie atop the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts. The Titans are slight favorites at -145, while the Colts are even to win the division.

COVID-19 Concerns

Green Bay (5-2) is supposed to kick off the week's schedule with a Thursday Night Football matchup at San Francisco (4-4). But the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff is in doubt after Packers running back A.J. Dillon tested positive for COVID-19, and the entire running back group is in danger through contact tracing.

Meanwhile, Baltimore cornerback Marlon Humphrey tweeted on Monday that he has COVID-19. The 5-2 Ravens are favored by three points at 5-2 Indianapolis with a 1 p.m. ET kickoff set for Sunday.

Coming off a loss to Las Vegas, the Cleveland Browns are on their bye this week. They had an unnamed player report positive symptoms on Monday, and the team went into remote meetings but does not yet have a positive test.

Injury Concerns

The 49ers had a rough fourth quarter in their loss to division-leading Seattle. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), running back Tevin Coleman (knee) and tight end George Kittle (foot) all left the game with injuries, and their Week 9 statuses are questionable.

In the Lions-Colts game, both teams lost wide receivers with Detroit's Kenny Golladay (hip) and Indianapolis' T.Y. Hilton (groin) going down. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Rams not only lost to the Miami Dolphins but also lost running back Darrell Henderson to a second-quarter thigh injury.

Trade Deadline

The NFL trade deadline is this week, and a few teams have already bolstered their playoff chances. The New Orleans Saints acquired linebacker Kwon Alexander from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso and a fifth-round pick. Alonso tore his ACL in January and hasn't played this season, while Alexander has been slowed by an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, the Tennessee Titans picked up cornerback and punt returner Desmond King from the Los Angeles Chargers for a sixth-round pick. King was an All-Pro selection on defense in 2018 and a second-teamer on special teams.
