The NFL Draft is the next big event scheduled for the league, and teams are working hard to prepare for the big day. That hasn’t stopped teams from trying to improve their rosters in free agency or through trade, and there continues to be some big moves announced.
Teams are able to make a big jump in the NFL form year-to-year, and that’s the goal of every team in the league. Here is a look at three of the biggest NFL moves that have taken place over the last few days.
Wagner Back With Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks are a team that is in need of a big jump on the defensive side of the football, and they are turning to a familiar name for some help. The Seahawks have announced that they have reached a one-year agreement with linebacker Bobby Wagner.
Wagner will receive $7 million as a part of this deal, and it brings him back to Seattle after just one year away from the team. The Seahawks celebrated this signing on social media after it became official, and it brings back one of the most important players in franchise history.
This was not a move that was expected, as Wagner had a messy exit from the team a season ago. Wagner spent the last season with the Los Angeles Rams, and the two sides agreed to part ways after a terrible season for Wagner and the team.
Wagner is going to be a future Hall of Famer in the NFL, and he built that resume by being one of the most important parts of the “Legion of Boom” in Seattle.
Broncos Keeping Star Receivers
The Denver Broncos have a ton of decisions to make this offseason, but new head coach Sean Payton has made one thing clear. While there have been rumors about the Broncos looking to trade some of their top offensive talent, Payton shut down those rumors.
Denver is in need of some draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, but they are going to be keeping wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton. The passing offense for the Broncos was abysmal in 2022, but keeping those two players will give quarterback Russell Wilson a chance to bounce back.
Other teams have indicated to NFL sources that the Broncos would be willing to part with one of the receivers for a 1st Round Draft pick, but Payton is adamant that he wants to keep those players on the roster.
Panthers Land New WR
The Carolina Panthers made a big trade with the Chicago Bears earlier this offseason, and they traded away D.J. Mooer in that deal. Carolina was looking for someone to replace Moore, and they agreed to a deal with veteran wide receiver Adam Theilen.
Carolina apparently wasn’t done adding to the wide receiver room, as they recently agreed to a deal with wide receiver DJ Chark. Chark comes to the Panthers after playing with the Detroit Lions a season ago, and he will be paid $5 million.
