New York Mets at Los Angeles Angels Betting Preview/Prop Picks
12 June 2022

We’re set to take a look at what could be the most entertaining game of the day. The New York Mets, who are first in the NL East, face off against the Los Angeles Angels.
The Mets fell 11-6 in the latest game against the Angels and will look to bounce back tonight. At the moment, the series is split 1-1. This is the last time these two will play each other for the rest of the season.
The Angels have a lot on the line tonight, especially with a 29-32 record. A few guys are on the injury list as well, hurting their chances even more. However, they showed a lot of strength in yesterday’s win, so we’ll keep that in mind.
With a chance to win a series over the Mets, the Angels will have to give it all they’ve got. The question is, will it be enough to secure a win?
New York Mets: The Mets need much better pitching today
Yesterday’s 11-6 loss was due to a few things. For starters, Carlos Carrasco had a tough game, allowing nine hits and five runs over the course of 4.2 innings.
With such a tough start, the Mets were behind 7-0 by the end of the sixth inning. Considering they only had three innings to bounce back, scoring six runs is pretty good. We need to see much better pitching today.
Taking the mound for the Mets today is Taijuan Walker, who is a strong SP. Walker has a 3-2 record as a starter with an ERA of 3.28 this season.
The Mets also need to get started early at the plate, putting pressure on the Angels. As a team, the Mets lead MLB in terms of batting average at .264. We expect to see a much better Mets team in tonight’s game.
Los Angeles Angels: Patrick Sandoval gets the nod as the SP
It looks as if today’s game is going to be all about pitching as Patrick Sandoval gets the start. Sandoval could be considered the best pitcher, behind Ohtani, for the Angels.
He has a record of 3-1 this season with an ERA of 2.81 over the course of 48.0 innings. In terms of batting, the Angels are quite good, with a team batting average of .244. So, what does that mean for today?
Well, for starters, the Angels need to get their team going quickly. Similar to yesterday’s game, the Angels hit the ground running with five runs over the first four innings.
This kind of output will definitely help them against the Mets tonight. However, they also need to be dominant on the mound, committing little to no errors. If they can, they could win this game against the Mets.
New York Mets at Los Angeles Angels Betting Pick
Each of these teams has a bit of work to do heading into this game. The Angels could be missing the second baseman, Michael Stefanic. They’re also without RF Taylor Ward, leaving them in a tough spot.
They did well yesterday, but we don’t see them coming out on top in this one. Instead, we’ll take the New York Mets on the road +100.
Along with the Mets, we’re going to take the over as well, which is set at nine runs. The game went well over the total yesterday, and while we think Walker will do better than Carrasco, we see the offenses pushing the total over again tonight. This is going to be a close game, but we see it as a 6-5 win for the Mets.
