New Jersey Devils at St. Louis Blues Betting Preview/Prop Pick

The NHL All-Star Game is over, and now each game has some additional importance. The St. Louis Blues host the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night, and every game is extremely important for the hosts.

New Jersey comes into this game with just 37 points on the season, and that has them in last place in the Metropolitan Division. The Devils just snapped a long losing streak on Tuesday night, and life on the road hasn’t been kind to this team.

Jesper Bratt leads the way on offense for the Devils as he has registered 14 goals and 29 assists on the year. New Jersey does have the ability to score some goals, and they just put up seven goals in the most recent game. 

New Jersey has been a solid team on the penalty kill this season, and that is going to play a key role in this matchup. 

Blues Know How to Score

The St. Louis Blues are a team that is loaded with offensive talent, and they are scoring over 3.4 goals per game. St. Louis has scored on 28.5 percent of their chances on the power play, and they can be deadly when they have the man advantage.

Center Robert Thomas leads the Blues with 27 assists, and Jordan Kyrou has scored a team-high 17 goals. St. Louis can be a hard team to stop when they get rolling, and the Devils will have to find a way to get some stops.

Jordan Binnington has been solid in net for the Blues, but he hasn’t been as dominant as in past years. St. Louis has given up 12 goals in the past three games, and that will have to improve. 

Devils Defeat the Blues

This has not been a good season for the Devils, but they did just pick up an impressive blowout win on Montreal that should give them some momentum. New Jersey has been a solid offensive team, and this is going to be a game that features plenty of goals. 

St. Louis is still a betting favorite to win the Stanley Cup this season, but they have been scuffling a bit of late. The Blues simply try to outscore every opponent, but that strategy isn’t going to work on Thursday night.
