NBA Summer League: Monday's Picks

The NBA Summer League in Las Vegas wraps up tonight with the championship game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Houston Rockets. Game time is 9:00 pm ET at Thomas & Mack Center.

Fittingly, both these teams are the last two standing with perfect records at 5-0 as well as the largest average margin of victory at +11.4. The Cavaliers did have the more difficult time advancing in yesterday’s semifinals as they had to withstand a late run by the Brooklyn Nets before pulling out a 102-99 win. The Rockets were tied with the Utah Jazz at the end of the first quarter, but pulled away from there for a 115-101 win behind another strong offensive showing from Nate Hinton (27 points), Cam Whitmore (25 points) and Trevor Hudgins (16 points, 9 assists). As a team, the Rockets were able to reach the century mark in all five of their contests and finished first in scoring (110.2 ppg), third in FG% (47.0), third in FT% (79.5) and fifth in assists (21.4 apg).
