NBA Preseason/Thursday's Picks

James Harden's 12th triple-double leads Brooklyn past Minnesota, 112-107 - NetsDaily

The Brooklyn Nets will close out their preseason tonight as they host the undefeated Minnesota Timberwolves. Game time is 7:30 pm ET at Barclays Center.

The Nets (2-1) have been playing the preseason without Kyrie Irving, who remains out indefinitely. They have won two of their three contests without him, including victories over the Lakers and Bucks. The Nets suffered their first loss of the preseason the last time out against the Sixers in Philadelphia. Brooklyn shot well from the field (50.6 percent) in the 115-104 loss, but turned the ball over 27 times compared to Philadelphia’s 17.

Ball security has not been a problem for Minnesota (3-0), which remains perfect on the preseason following wins over the Pelicans, Nuggets and Clippers. The Twolves recent win over LA, 128-100, was their most dominant performance to date following the two previous wins by a combined 5 points. D’Angelo Russell led the way with 19 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards had 17 apiece.

Dunkel has the Nets scratching out a win, but failing to cover the Vegas line of -8.  The offenses should be on full display and push to final score over the Vegas total of 224 ½.

Dunkel’s Pick: Minnesota (+8); Over.
