The Bucks are coming off a 2021-22 campaign that saw them finish with a 51-31 record in the regular season before being eliminated in the conference semifinals by the Boston Celtics in seven games.

Memphis finished last year with the second-best regular season record in the Western Conference at 56-26. The Grizzlies were also eliminated in the conference semifinals by eventual-champion Golden State in six games.
